Agitator will not slip through cross bar after all
The bushings in Gold Medal Cross bars should not be removed. Could you mean the Set collars?I have had kettles where I have had to hammer the agitator out of the crossbar pretty heavily. Carbon from the oil can get up in there and lock it into place. Place the crossbar in a bench vice to support the sides close to the center, but not tightened. Be sure to use a piece of wood(you will destroy the scrap wood in the process) between the hammer and the agitator shaft to prevent damaging the agitator shaft.
Oil to popcorn ratio for model 2085?
All popcorn machines use a 3or4:1 corn to oil ratio. More specifically the model 2085 is a 6 oz popper.6oz. popcorn (3/4 cup)1.6 - 2oz oil (1/4 cup)1-2 tsp popcorn salt
Drum turns and turns. only burns the kernals
If the drum is turning, then it should work. Are you putting enough oil in the pot? Make sure you let it heat the oil for a little bit before adding the popcorn. If you dont have enough oil or heat it will not heat the kernals properly and burn them. You just need enough to cover the bottom of the pot an 1/8 inch so.
