Make sure the power cord is all the way in.
There could be a blown fuse. It is hard to trouble shoot when there is not power to any system.

screw a small screw into the piece in the back right corner of the basket that the shredder fits on. This will adjust to the height needed to make the shredder run.

Hi,
I see that the unit runs when in Auto position.
First make sure you turn the machine OFF then see if there is anything in the way of the shredder that gets detected by the sensor.
That can be one reason why it keeps on running when in Auto.
To reset turn the unit OFF and unplug it from the wall outlet or power source then hold down the power button for at least 5-15 seconds then plug it back in then turn or power the unit back up.
Still make sure that there is no paper debris anywhere in the way of the sensor.

To fix this get some dry Graphite spray lube....

Spray graphite

Spray this on the cutters and sides of the cutters to lube the cutters and bearings....this will stop the noise...and prolong the life of the machine...

Are you try resetting the shreddar? Do it unplugging and waiting for about 20 seconds, then plugging back in. There is most likely something blocking your shred gears preventing it from running in forward motion.

Sometimes the shredder will work in reverse only, must to check in the back side of the circuit board for anything out of the ordinary. Some cases show a hot spot on the back, just opposite a zener diode and a resistor. Considering how these arn't expensive shredders, just replece it.

hi, Try resetting the shreddar, unplugging it waiting for about 20 seconds and then plugging back in. Check to make sure there is no paper or paper clips stuck in the shreddar, make sure the unit is properly mounted on bin, the overheat light isn't on is it? if none of this helps and you have a warranty on your shreddar now would be a good time ot call them as you might have a hardware problem. i hope this will be helpfull to you. please vote for me.

OK first...15 sheets is absolute maximum; ie 1 more sheet and it dies!!
Manufacturers always rate machine to their "maximum". With shredders if you want longevity and the fewest jams it would be recommended that you run the machine at about 50% capacity.
Its pretty simle really..start with 1 sheet then 2 sheets and keep going until you hear the motor starting to "labour"....you shouldn't run much more than that.
Think of it like your car...it will do 100 mph...you know what it sounds like at that speed..engine going flat-out etc, etc...how long would your car last if you always drove it "flat-out"??? How many repair bills would you have..."or" if you drove your car at 50 ~60 mph its a lot easier on the car, lasts longer and with routine maintenance will have fewer breakdowns and repairs.
Now...routine maintenance on your shredder.....the 150mx is a cross-cut shredder; ALL cross-cut shredders should be "oiled" regularly...has your's ever been oiled????. Its a simple process...you get a bottle of "shredder" oil and pour some across the cutting blades to provide librication and help clear away the tiny pices generated in the shredding process. How frequently??? How much do you shred?? The more you shred the more you will need to oil it. The Royal shredder is a consumer machine designed for the home or home office use; for occassional shredding.

Try cleaning the "eyes" in the middle where you put the paper in...they may be dusty/dirty....if that dosnt fix it you may have pooched the pcb inside...contact Royal at 1-800-524-0799 for Parts assistance.

Dont know if even Royal will have a schematic for the PCB,...most of these are "replace/throw away" pcb's in consumer machines...anyway you can contact Royal at 1-800-524-0799 and see what they say.

If its just overheated then leaving it off for about 1/2 hour should let it reset...if it still wont go then you may have blown the pcb inside...contact Royal for parts assistance at 1-800-524-0799.

Normally try to run it in reverse while pulling the paper back out to assist the motor. If it won't even run in reverse then you will have to take it apart to manually clear the jam.
