Is the Makita model 350s chainsaw the same as another for spares

It really depends what you need. The carb is the same as the 340 and 360. Some parts are the same as the 390.

I put my makita 14.4

it sounds like it could have burned out the battery, maybe killed one of the cells. replace the battery and let it charge for no more then 8 hours. 4 for a "quick" charge.

Makita dsc cutter EK61100 pull cord does not return into spool. When you unscrew cover off it returns

Sounds like the spool and/or the spring is bound up by the cover. Try loosening the screws a little at a time and see at what point it returns. Also check under the spool and see if a wood chip may be under the spool that is causing it to bind.

How do i mix my 2 stroke for a makita chainsaw how many ml of oil to a litre of fuel

Mix the fuel and oil in a suitable container that is airtight with a secure stopper to ensure the fuel mixture has a long shelf life. Keep the funnel, spout, container, etc., dry and very clean. Storing it all in a large plastic bag serves very well for this purpose. Any quality engine oil can be used but an oil of the recommended type and viscosity will produce much better results. Purists and traditionalists still like to use vegetable oil but this has a very short useful life and dubious results. Self mixing 2-stroke oils are best and synthetic-based oils are reckoned these days to be superior. Put fuel in the container first and then add the correct quantity of oil for the number of litres of fuel, close the container and shake with vigour for a few seconds and then transfer the fuel to the tool. The number of ml of oil to use per litre of fuel will vary depending on the engine type, manufacture and age. The fuel/oil ratio is often marked on the fuel tank or cap, 30:1, 40:1, 50:1, etc.. 50:1 would require 20ml of oil per litre. Some 2-stroke oil bottles have a useful measuring scale on the side...

I have a new Makita Brush cutter. After operating for about half an hour the clutch housing is very hot; eg too hot to hold to restart the engine. Is this normal ?

If you are cutting heavy brush and exceeding the max rated load then it will overheat the clutch.

How do you start the dcs642120

Put fresh fuel/oil 50:1 mix in the fuel tank. Turn on ignition, set fast idle and full choke. Prime the carb, if it has a pump bulb for that. Holding saw so it can't move at you, pull the starter smartly for at most 5 times or until it "pops". If it pops, take choke off and pull starter until it starts. Else, take choke off and crank it maybe 5 times until it runs, or go to full choke again for maybe 3 cranks. Keep alternating sets of pulls with/without full choke until you get a pop, or give up. All the above is for the general case- shouldn't take many cranks for modern saws to get one running. Pay attention for safety to how you hold the saw, like maybe with the rear of the rear handle located inside your right knee.

I have a makita electric chainsaw rated at 1800w , do i need a special extension lead ?

I would say not a normal 10 amp lead should be good enough what you need is an extension box that has an inbuilt ELB in case you cut the lead or from a power point that has a ELB in the circuit breaker

2 of my electric makita chainsaws have dime tip carving bars. chains keep coming extremely loose after only a few cuts. I spent as much time tightening the chains as carving.

chains that come loose that fast , and is not a cause of a weak bar bolt slipping , for sure is caused by improper oiling of chain and its overheating , heat makes metal expand so chain goes slack if it gets hot
