I need to set up remote for DVD-V98000
Is this a universal replacement remote or the same one that came with your DVD player? If it is the same remote, you should be able to find programming information in the DVD player's owner manual. The link to your player is below. Find the Remote programming information in chapter 6.

is the dvd for your region? you cant play out of region discs. I.E. you cant play amercan dvd films on a uk dvd player and visa versa

Won't Read DVDs
The problem is in the laser pickup, overtime it becomes weak, or the pladder motor the dvd sits on becomes defective. The only option is to clean the laser pickup lens with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol and hope for the best. If this fails the entire assembly must be replaced "very expensive" or replaced the dvd/vcr combo "cheaper solution"

Careful cleaning of the VCR tape head with alcohol and a soft cloth (q-tips sometimes leave fuzz behind) may help, but you could have a problem in the circuit that switches from VCR to Tuner.

Hi,
VCR video signal wont come out from Component Video Out of combo unit, it is low resolution signal so you need to hook yellow-red-white video cable in tv for VCR output.
Make sure to select VCR as source in combo while playback of VHS tape and select DVD as source when playing dvd disc in combo.

Second hand DVD/VCR 9800.
I wonder if you just need to make sure your FORMAT is set correctly on BOTH units, it needs to be either USA: NTSC or Europe: PAL.
Check these settings in your menus, and ensure both are the same.
If not that then try a different set of leads..

I need help programming vcr to tape show
Since the V9800 has no built-in tuner, your TV set must be set to the channel your show to be taped is on. There is no way to tune it to any particular channel. Now, isn't that convenient?

DVD Player stops reading disc Error message :
usually this happens when lens cannot read the the disc. Due to few reason
1 Your disk is scratched
2 Your DVD lens is covered with dust
3 You need to replace DVD lens
Try another few CD/DVD to rectify whether there is any problem with dvd you are trying to play
if this error occurs on all the dvd you played then the most likely proble is with your DVD lens
either its coverd with dust use Disk cleaner if not you got to replace a new DVD lense as per model
