When my monitor comes on it displays a blue box
It is not receiving a signal, check the connections. Also most monitors have dual connections, one for analog and the other for digital. If yours is using the DVI Digital connection then you need to switch you monitor to that input. There is usually a button on the front that will allow you to switch between the two, it is usually an arrow pointing to a box.
My LG flatiron W1943TB turns on, says analog power
Hi erin mckinle,
That is probably it's, uh, analog power saving mode. When the screen goes black and the power button flashes, make some mouse gestures or hit some keys that would not affect anything (try spacebar). That should bring up the screen. If you think it goes into power saving mode too fast, go to Control Panel --> Power Options, and change the values. Hope this helps.
My monitor has gone blue, what do I do
Assuming the monitor is powered (if unsure, check the that power cord is connected to a live 120 volt source and the other end is connected to the monitor), check the data (analog VGA or DVI) cable between the monitor and the computer. Make sure the connectors are firmly seated in the respective jacks, and held in place with the retaining screws where provided.
If all four connections (power in and out and the data in and out) are satisfactory, check your monitor's input "source" selection. This may be selectable via dedicated "Source" button on the monitor or from the monitor's "Menu".
When changing the source input types with the button, it will usually take a couple of seconds before an image will display, so allow enough time for the monitor to respond to the change. If changing via menu selection, it may not change until saved or exiting.
If the monitor refuses to display, it may be an issue with your video card. In this case you could try swapping the video card or the monitor to determine which is the culprit.
I hope you found this Very Helpful and good luck!
My monitor keeps turning off after 5 seconds of it
Assuming you are using Windows XP or Vista... Check the power management settings. (Start...Control Panel...Power). You can set whatever you want the time interval to be when the monitor goes into energy save mode or off.
Used as second monitor suddenly stared to go dark
If the screen is lighting up for a fraction of a second when you turn on & then goes dark, this indicates a fault either with the backlights on the screen or the inverter part of the monitor. You can check the backlights if you have access to a backlight tester, you need to remove the rear cover & connect the backlight cables into the tester, if this checks ok then look for a problem on the inverter board, checking the capacitors for any signs of distress.
