My dvd drive is not recognized by Device

WoW, that one is a good one. If you are using Windows OS go to device manager, hardware, uninstall or remove device (DVD player). Turn off the computer HARD BOOT/Cold Boot, not just reboot. Start the computer and it should find your DVD add the drivers and install them. That should do it. NOT all Windows versions are exactly the same, but, once you get to the device manager you should find remove/add devices. Good Luck Al at Dallas Texas, USA 785180

My Pavilion dv6700 does not recognize my webcam,

Hi,

This is normally the case when you are not using the updated or correct webcam drivers. When you purchase a webcam it normally comes with a CD that has the software to run the webcam. Install this software if you can. If you do not have the CD I would recommend you visit the website of the webcam manufacturer and download them from the site. The site will have the most up to date software and I recommend using this. If the webcam is fairly old, the software on the cd might not work.

I would also recommend updating the computer drivers directly through the HP site. You can click here for the HP driver update site.

Updating the software should resolve this issue. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have an HP dv6700 that won't boot windows. It's

BIOS diags do not test RAM's Windows functionality. Download Microsoft's Memory diagnostic too and burn to a cd. then test your memory.
To run Windows Memory Diagnostic, you must reboot your computer with the disk or CD-ROM on which you installed Windows Memory Diagnostic in the drive. After the reboot, Windows Memory Diagnostic will load and its interface will appear. After loading, the first test pass will begin, using the default standard test suite, and continue until complete, unless Windows Memory Diagnostic is either paused or exited. Once the first test pass is complete, Windows Memory Diagnostic will begin a second test pass using the same settings as before. Windows Memory Diagnostic will continue to run test passes until you exit.
