the memory card is damaged.

Turn your camera off. Open the memory card access door and remove the memory card. If it is like the SD and XD cards or IS one of those, check along one edge of the card and there should be a tiny (usually white in color) slide switch. Make sure that this switch is in the "unlocked" position and replace it back into the camera and try it. Sometimes the switch moves as you take it in and out. Off brand cards have loose switches that can move just by handling the camera. I had to jam one of mine into the unlocked position with a tiny piece of thick paper stuck into the switch slot. Be careful when putting the card back into the camera that you don't catch the switch on the camera slot and move it back into locked mode. If this has helped, please rate it accordingly. if you have a computer with a sd slot and the pictures are on a sd card you don't need a disk just insert the card and go to start>computers> then click on the driver and they should be right there.

You can download a codec package for your computer's media player. Or download media player 11 or the newest version of quicktime player with the latest updates.

Turn the camera off, take out and reinsert the card again them power on and see if it says the same.

Make sure the write protect lock is off by taking the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this .

If the lock is off and you still get the error then the card maybe damaged.

Maybe the lens is stuck.

There is a little sliding switch on the edge of your card. If it is up your card is 'protected' and in read only mode. Slide it the otherway and it should solve the issue. It's very, very small right on the edge of the card...Very easy to move during install and removal of card.

The products standard guarranty doesn't cover cracked screens. You have to replace it. Otherwise the black spot will grow and cover all the screen.

It is not difficult to install. Just make sure that the battery is removed and the flash capacitor discharged before opening the screen.

try to just take them off of your card into a folder on your desktop not in WMP

What is the format of the downloaded file?
Which player are you using??

I have exactly the same problem with my camera, admittedly it did get dropped on the floor. There is no other damage to it but now cannot use it as the camera says the card is locked.....I have tried a new sim card and also locking and unlocking the card but this does not work either.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved as the camera is only two weeks old!

do not turn it on!!!!!!!!
use a blow drier and make sure all moist is dry
let sit to cool off---after that it should be fine

Make sure you are using Toshiba, Panasonic, Sandisc. Those are the only 3 brands Casio recommends using. Make sure that lock on card is moved all the way into the unlock position.

I have the same problem and just read your question.  I started playing with my camera and got it off.  I went to playback mode and hit menu.  I cant remember what selection I did but i think its on the 1st page of the menu.  It asked me if I wanted to reset the camera to original settings.  I selected yes and easy mode turned off.
