The screen on my Coolpix 500 looks like a chemical was poured on it. It is not scratched, what can I do

Is it the screen, or the screen protector ? If the latter, just remove it and replace it. If it is the actual screen, first of all try a lint-free cloth barely dampened with distilled water, and test it on a corner, see if that works. On no account get the camera wet. If that is unsuccessful, try adding a very little diluted washing-up liquid, and try again. Should that not succeed, I would advise taking the camera to your local repair facility for their expert advice.

MY NIKON COOLPIX S 3000 DIGITAL CAMERA WONT DO ANYTHING AT ALL

Hi Here are some suggestions to try and see where the problem may be: 1. Have you tried to charge the battery? We would suggest trying different USB sources (e.g. a USB port on a computer as well as the Nikon supplied AC adapter) 2. Could the battery be dead? If you have tried to charge the battery in the camera via USB then there is a chance the battery is dead and needs replacing. If the camera had not been used for a long time and the battery was stored with little or no charge, the battery may now be un-chargeable. 3. If the camera has been left unused for a long time the internal battery that keeps the time/date may have discharged. You need to be able to set the time/date before the battery can be charged. If you plug the camera into a USB power source and you can see the menu on the LCD then set the date/time. We hope these suggestions help to get the camera back up and running

My nikon Coolpix L340 says: Out of memory! The memory card has 32GB and I have taken some 9000 pictures. Do I have to buy another memory card?

You have two main choices. Yes, you could buy a new memory card. But I find the extra small cards can be easily lost or misplaced. A better method is to transfer the images from the camera to a computer or laptop. It is also possible to transfer the photos through the computer or laptop onto an external hard drive with a much larger memory as a back up. Then you can re-use the card you already have.

Why won't my nikon coolpix s8000 camera flash pop up or register that it is up?

Do you have "Flash off" selected in menu? Also, if in manual modes, will not come up automatically. Try auto.

Nikon coolpix s7000 shows a black screen when wanting to take pictures how can i fix it ?

This camera does not have Manual Function. Your description sounds like the camera is OFF or needs to be RECHARGED. It seems dead to me - no power.

I have a Nikon Coolpix L820 and i take some

Yes - when editing images, always copy them to your computer and do it there. Do not copy the images back to the card, as the camera will be unable to read them - as you have discovered.

Why won't my Nikon coolpix L820 read a SD card

Is this a card that has worked before and now doesn't? Do other card(s) work in the unit? If a card is attempted to be installed backward, it can damage the internal connections and make the card slot inoperative. Also, there are restrictions on the type, size, and speed of cards that can be used (identified) within the device. Here is a link to the manual; check page 20 of the technical notes and index (page 230 of the pdf). http://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/L820RM_EN.pdf

Nikon s6300 won't turn on

Coolpix Cameras are tricky to use with chargers. I will assume your USB Charger EH-69P is 100 - 240V 50/60 Hz so it CAN work in many places around the world with an adapter. Do not go over 240V or you could damage it. These cameras like to have the power supply connected when it is on to charge - meaning if you have it connected and you plug the charger in the wall it will NOT charge. So if you plug the charger in the wall first and then plug the cable in the camera it will work. The camera is actually ON when it charges and I never REMOVE the memory card when it is ON. When you have a dead battery. Plug the camera in and make sure the ON LED lights and the Charge LED flashes. Then don't mess with it. Let it charge completely (Charge LED stops flashing and is OFF) and then unplug it. It will turn off. Then later you can turn it on.

White line across the screen on the camera. Cannot get a full view of the image I am trying to take a picture of. I can only see the image that is in the white line

I can only guess. I think the camera was dropped and the screen was damaged.

L330. Which remote shutter release works with it or is there a plug-in model?

This camera does not support external shutter release. To get around this use a TRIPOD and self timer (If you can wait 10 secs before taking shot)

I have the coolpix s33. On the top of the view screen there is a flashing red square with a clock What is this representing and how do I remove it

The camera has a 10 second self timer. usually when you want to use it.. It only works for one image so you have to set it up for self timer again. On the back you may be able to set the camera to use the self timer. The only ICON I know of in most cameras that has a clock is the self timer. Say camera is in Tripod and you want to take a group shot and YOU want to be in the photo. You set up and put on Self Timer. You press the shutter and it will take 10 seconds before taking the photo... Enough time for YOU to get int he shot.
