"memory full" but SD cards are empty
Not sure if it will be this, but has the SD card got locked by accident? There is a little sliding button on the side of the card, which can be locked to protect the content. My camera shows the card as full if I accidentally lock the card. You can just slide it back again to unlock it. I never noticed the button was there until I accidentally knocked it while loading the card in and out of my PC to transfer the photos.
I have loaded the software updated the driver and
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
I have Fujifilm Finepix S1000. The battery door does not close
I know this is an old question, but when I had this problem I came across several forums that had the "tape it" or "drill a hole and screw it shut" solutions. Some even gave step by step instructions on taking the camera apart and replacing the battery compartment with one from a camera bought for parts. I even contacted Fujifilm for an estimate. All were either expensive, ineffective or damaging. The solution I came up with was to go to the Camera Exchange and buy a Quick Release plate used for tripods. One that was long enough to cover the battery door. It screws into the tripod mount on the back and holds the door closed. No damage, no hole drilling and it works. Also only cost me $8. Win!
How do I unprotect the memory card from my fuji
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If that doesn't work, try another card.
Half of my fugi film digital camera is black
Hi there:Some symptoms of a defective CCD include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.A CCD problem would explain the lines on your pictures and the lines on the LCD (since the CCD is used to feed the live image). CCD (Charge Coupled Device) is one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras. When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter. In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details:Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
Finepix S1000fd just suddenly quit working...
I'm not sure how old this is, but I had this identical problem on my Fujifilm Finepix S1500 and the solution was embarrasingly easy and it may be related to this same problem. If your camera has a viewfinder, see if there's an image there. If so, look to see if you have a EVF/LCD button or something similar on the back of the camera. If so, press it. What had happened with me is that my wife likes using the viewfinder for framing and she presses that button to turn off the rear LCD and on the viewfinder. Maybe the button got pressed accidentally. Press it again and it should switch back. Hopefully this is the solution.
Camera has zoom error
Best advice I can offer is to send it to fuji for repair.
I say that because the lens in this camera is a bit more complex than other fuji's of a similar type. Just to get at the lens unit requires an almost complete strip down of the camera, with some desoldering.
You could try banging the camera on the palm of your hand when you switch it on to try and free the zoom lens inside but if it's jammed too much then the only way to free it will be to open it up.
If it's still under warranty then you may be able to get it done for free but check with fuji first as it could be classed as "miss use of camera" and they won't fix under warranty.
I know the lens set up very well on this model and this is the reason why I say send to fuji.
I can do it. And have done several times but it does take quite a while
Zoom error Fuji S1000fd
I have seen instances where people managed to get this problem fixed themselves. the zoom mechanism, it seems, is not all that complex. If you think you've got nothing to lose (there is a risk factor) just take it apart and have a look. Good luck!
Focus error - can not get rid of
The focus mechanism for this camera is different from other Fuji cameras in that instead of using 3 evenly spaced guide pins like on smaller compacts or, a motor and drive thread like the S5600 or S5700. The S1000fd uses a guide rod and spring and 1 guide pin to move the focus lens up and down to sharpen the picture. 1 pin is all that can jam and cause problems. Getting to it involves desoldering the control board from the main board just to access the lens unit. Then desolder 2 ribbon strips and secure 2 tension springs before you can remove the lens construction.
When I connect the camera
You should make sure you have the software for your camera installed on your computer. Also, most newer computers/operating systems come with a feature called Auto Detect, where it automatically detects the device you are plugging in and installs the software for you. If it's still a problem, and if you have auto detect and it's still not registering, go to Start Menu > Computer and you should see your camera registering on that screen (As a drive. You will see your C drive along with any other drives you have, and you should see the brand of your camera somewhere on there with the other drives. Double left click on your camera's icon, and it should give you some sort of option (To import pictures, etc)
I have a fujifilm finepix S1000fd and it says Card
Hi Tim,Believe it or not, it is not a good idea to transfer cards between cameras, as each brand or even model, has its own way to format the card and/or to build the system file on it. So... Have you tried formatting the card from your camera set-up menu? Note that your wife will probably have to do the same if she wants to have her card back. Another thought is to buy one card for yourself and it should work right away, although it is always a good idea to format the card prior to its firs use.Cheers,V+
Hi - I cannot find my CD with my Finepix 1000fd
You don't need any special software.
Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto and Windows Photo Gallery.
