Hello, your camera have a bad sequence motor.You need to replace the SQ base plate unit. Contact Nikon service to solve.

Green light flashing means that the camera is reading the memory card. If it keeps on flashing and flashing means that the camera is trying to read the card and not able to. This means that there is something wrong with the card. You should stick your card into the computer and transfer all your data from the card on to the computer. after all your photos are safe on your computer, put your card back in to the camera. turn the camera on, press the menu button, navigate to the menu that looks like a wrench and in that menu select "Format Memory Card" this will erase and format the card to how it should be. after that, you should be able to view your photos normally. If that doesn't work your card may be faulty and you may have to purchase another memory card.
Note: the camera might not display photos that you downloaded from you computer on to the card, cameras often only display photos that you took with the camera.

Hi Angela, check to see that your MODE dial is still set to AUTO or PROGRAM MODE or a SCENE Mode. Almost sounds like the camera is set in the "S" Mode which is Shutter Speed.

That's the way this camera works. The D60 works as SLRs have worked for half a century. You view through the viewfinder, which views through the lens. The screen is for menus, setup, and image review, not for shooting. The LiveView feature, which turns your dSLR into a point&shoot camera, is a relatively new feature in dSLRs. Nikon introduced it into their lineup with the D3 and D300, and it took a while to trickle down to their entry-level dSLRs. While it's now in all their models, it's not in the three-year-old D60.

Use a card reader instead of the camera.

That's odd that Shutterbug camera shop couldn't tell you everything you needed to know about that camera. I looked it up in a PDF manual because the new "small frame" cameras require different lenses as is the case here Autofocus with this camera is only supported by AF-S and AF-I lenses the lens is equipped with the autofocus motor other types of lenses will not autofocus.

The "kit" lens for this camera is the AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor 18-55 F3.5/5.6G VR.

Now if Shutterbug camera shop mounted an AF-S lens and the camera didn't autofocus then they are right in saying it's broke. I just find it strange they couldn't tell you that straight up. You need to install an AF-S lens and try it, again they may have put the wrong type on it and of course it won't work.

I take it that you don't have the camera manual?

If not go into Google search Type in Nikon D60 PDF manual and click search fifth one down on the first page is what you need click on it and download your "new" manual

See if that helps, personally I think you just need the correct lens.

I assume you are adjusting the "exposure compensation" when you talk about "ev". How are your batteries? Try cleaning the contacts on the lens and camera body where they meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

Press up/down on the multiselector to cycle through the different available views of your pictures.

The error is with the shutter release button and the unit has to be taken apart....Get it repaired by Nikon it is a common problem with these units.

the lens needs to be set at its smallest f-stop to work properly on your camera. The F error is telling you that the aperure ring is not at the smallest setting(largest "F" number, most likely F22. turn the ring to F22 or whatever is the biggest number and it will work. there might also be a lock on the aperture ring to keep it from moving. Try using a separate card reader instead of the camera.

The display circuitry is compromised, and possibly the screen. I suggest a camera technician to check out your system with an estimate.

this case will happen if you still have pictures on memory card and it hasn`t been formatted using the Nikon system

the solution is backup your files on memory card to PC/laptop, then reformat the memory card using Nikon menu

this problem occurs when there is corrossion on shutter button inside,and can be only repaired by a good service center, or you can buy a cheap wired remote to use camera without going for immediate repairs.

The mode you mention above is prioritized for speed moving object such as racing, basketball game, etc...

the blurry condition is caused by the movement was too fast so the camera couldn`t capture it, the yellowish picture is caused by unmatched white balance presetting

according to my experience, when you want to capture a moment like this,
switch the dial to S (shutter) mode, set the shutter speed to 1/80 or faster, using a flash will be an advantage, don`t forget to set the white balance to auto option
