You need to open line your phone so that it will accept any sim card. Visit this website, http://www.mrunlock.com/ it will provide unlocking codes for your phone.

If you have the phone`s manual look for the frequencies it operates, it may have some different ones which does not work in Europe. If you have "GSM 850 / 1800 / 1900"
that means you have to unlock it (you need to go to a service for that). It`s a cheap operation.

If you have used it with your Carrier you can call them and tell them your going out of the US on vacation for a month and you want to use a local simcard when u get there they will transfer you to there world department and 80% of the time you canget the code from them. or you can pay 30$ for it online from an unlocking company.
