Hammer drills Features

There are a few features you may want to pay attention to include: A Depth Rod mounted to the drill lets you know when the bit reaches the desired depth; Variable Speed Selection allows you to adjust the drill for specific jobs. Use high speed for small holes and low speed for large holes; Reverse can retrieve a hopelessly stuck bit; Removable Side Handles give the operator better control in normal use, and can be removed in confined spaces.

How to change brushes

on the BHP451 there are 2 screws on the back cover that need to be removed and then you can access the brushes and on the BTD 140 the same is true. The part number I see is 194427-5. If I have helped in answering your question would you please vote accordingly and thank you.

Broke bit inside chuck and

TAKE THE OUTER CHUCK PEICES OFF THE IMPACT!! THERE WILL BE A C-CLIP, WASHER, SPRING AND ONE OR TWO BALL BEARINGS AND THE OUTER HOUSING, IN THAT ORDER! WITH ALL OF THAT OFF, MOUNT THE ANVIL IN A BENCH VISE WITH BRASS JAWS OR BETWEEN TWO PEICES OF WOOD, UPSIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE TRICK IS TO HAVE THE BIT FALL OUT OF THE CHUCK ONCE IT IS LOOSE!!!! NOW WITH IT MOUNTED IN THE VICE AND PRETTY TIGHT, TURN THE TOOL ON UNTILL IT FALLS OUT, IT WORKS GREAT IF HAVE DONE IT ABOUT 75 TIMES!! MOST PEOPLE THINK I'M A WIZARD!! BUT IT'S REALLY EASY. WITH IT MOUNTED SOLID IN THE VISE THE ANVIL HITS SO FAST AND HARD IT VIBRATES THE ANVIL, IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE BALL BEARINGS HOLDING THE BIT, YOU WILL BE DOING THIS ALL DAY. SOMETIMES, IN THE CHEAPER BITS IT WILL ROTATE AND GALL UP SO BAD THAT IT WILL NEVER COME OUT, IN THAT CASE YOUR BUYING A NEW ANVIL ASSY. JIMS TOOL SERVICE

My Makita BHP451 Li ion battery drill periodically

Bjarne, odds are the variable speed function of the trigger is failing. There are Makita repair centers that perform repair, and sell parts if you want to take it on as a DIY project. Before proceeding, I would make sure the warranty has expired. If it is still in warranty a Makita repair center should repair it for no charge.

My Makita BTD140 seems to be gradually losing

If the motor is working good then check the hammer and anvil to see if they are rounded over. A weak spring under the hammer can also add to this problem. Also check the spindle and the two steel balls that hold the hammer to the spindle. Sometimes the spindle will become chipped on the edge of the grooves and let the steel balls get out of alignment in relation to the hammer.
If the motor itself is loosing power with full batteries then you will need to check the brushes and the armature for damage. If the brushes are chipped or broken you should replace both the brushes and armature. Any questions please post back.

I have two Makita chargers and three batteries of various ages. battery chargers no longer charge the batteries.

Do you leave them plugged into the mains all the time? Voltage spike possibly. They can be repaired, but you need the model number in the search query. https://www.google.com/search?q=Makita+charger+repair ..

Makita charger DC18RC i need electrical scheme or D14 diode value .

The Makita DC18RC charger is equipped with a diode labeled D14 that helps regulate the voltage. It is a 1N4007 diode, which is a 1-Amp, 1000-Volt diode. You can find the electrical schematic for the DC18RC charger online with a quick search.

Electric Makita HP2051 chuck won't close

I don't really know how a chuck works. I use them often on a drill press, cordless drills, etc. My grandfather always said to "check the simple things first." Could something have gotten in the way like saw dust, dirt.....? ? I might suggest trying using compressed air and blow it out? You can buy a can of compressed air at office depot.

I have a brand new makita hammer drill and the chuck is not stuck. It opens and closes freely but the bit still wont come out? Any ideas what may be going on?

Hi. Just to clarify, it is a rotary hammer drill, not an impact drill? In most cases those machines put out 3 joules of energy on the back of the drill bit. If it was a cheap bit, the hammer action "mushrooms" the end of the bit making it difficult to remove. You could try to force it out using a bench vise, but you could damage the chuck.

Hi I am having trouble with my DMR108 Makita radio. I keep getting this code appear and powerfail. I do not have a power cord with it or battery charger. I have replaced AA batteries but still can’t get it to find radio stations. It was my partners but he recently passed away. I don’t want to get rid of it if I can somehow fix it please.

I think this radio uses two different sets of batteries. There is the smaller batteries that store preset radio stations and a larger battery pack to power the actual radio. If your partner had other Makita cordless tools some of those batteries will fit and there will be a charger for them. I've put a link to a website for a users manual. (try looking at page 3. The larger battery will be a black block which is the same type used for the cordless tools. The squarer battery pack style should slide upwards towards the handle and the rounder shape battery packs should just pull out. Talk to a good builder or a Trade tool supplier and they may be able to help or order you the power cables you need. If not contact Makita directly and they will be able to help you. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1339075/Makita-Xrm04.html?page=3#manual
