HP ProLiant ML150 G5 Server - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Cooling fan speed
It's not likely that you can adjust the fan speed directly. You might have to use the various power profiles in the BIOS - if this model even implemented them.
The fans are controlled by either sensors on the board or a Baseboard Management Controller - if installed.
It's not really something that you can control. They will ramp up under load and increasing temperatures. That's what they're designed to do.
If it's too loud then this is not for you.

3 short beeps
Hey Buddy,
There are a few Troubleshooting Questions which I need to ask you.
When do you hear the beeps when you start the system. If So then you have a problem with your RAM (Random Access Memory) You need to remove one by one to check for the faulty one. If there is one RAM then you need to contact your Manufacturer if it is in warranty or just purchase one from the local vendor. If you are still facing the issues then feel free to drop me a line explaining your problem in brief. Thanks & Take Care.

Server won't start HP ML350 G5
Reseat the drives, but DO NOT swap slots. Keep exact, in case of RAID configuration.Use the Smartstart disc. It may show you the current array config.

HP PROLIANT SERVER gives continuos
First check your keyboard it could be a sticky key, if not than the best would be to install the HP diagnostic tools, (CD supplied with the machine) or download from the HP website... Look in Windows event viewer to see if there's something wrong as well...
Good luck!

Hard disk not found message
You need to press F6 and load special drivers for your disk driver card
See which disk adapter your server has and get the drivers on a floppy disk
Put the disk into your computer before seutp, then click F6 when prompted
it will search your floppy drive for them

I am unable to instal
Option 1 (HIGLY Recommended): HP servers should come with an install disk that prepares the windows installer for you. Boot from that disk, tell it your OS, and pop in the disk for the OS when prompted. It will come up fine and have all the HP monitoring agents installed.
Option 2: Load the driver the old fashioned way. Unless you have a floppy drive the standard "Press F6 to load drivers" trick won't work. If you do, then you'll need to put the RAID driver on the disk.
Option 3: Use an installation customizer like
nLite to pre-add the RAID driver to the Windows 2003 installer.
Good luck.

Hp proliant ml150 g5
suddenly turned
I had the same problem. The problem is the power button, it's not in short circuit, but I measure the
resistance when it is open, and it seemed to be a problem of it cable's isolation. We replaced the power
button's cables and now it's working.
You can replace the switch and the cables to assure the problem is fixed.
Good luck!, Esteban.
