Sounds like a software issue - U might try contacting HP but do not hold your breath. If machine is out of warranty they want nothing to do with you and will refer you to some forum or whatever. Or they might tell you to get a new scanner compatible with a newer OS.

Scanner bulb is probably worn out.

The "sender's" fax machine is attempting to RECEIVE a fax. This happens because they don't have the document fully inserted into the scanner before dialing. (According to HP's error code listing for "comm error 242" - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=buu02549) This is not a problem of a bad connection. Bad line condition codes are 223, 224 and most of the codes starting with 23.

go to control panel,network connections,right-click icon for wireless connection,click properties,then look for view available wireless connections.

HP does not make a toolbox software for Windows 7 64 bit. The stance they seem to be taking is that the unit is 3 years old, tough luck, buy a new machine or settle for printing only.

place your paper in proper position ,close the printer
second do one thing that pl clean the rubber (attached to shaft where paper is picked from ) with some thinner or petrol/thinner because it becomes slugy & dirt deposits on it due to which it does't picks paper

enter your printer
select MAC OS

Install the printer, then go to your startup folder and remove your printer so it cant start the services when you start windows.
Your printer will still work when you want to print items, but you may loose some functions like auto update and ink levels.
To get to your startup folder, type msconfig into the run or search box, or use a program like CCleaner.
You slowdown problem may be due to the amount of system ram, is the pc powerfull enough?

Make sure the paper inserted in the feeder is not wet and dampy

Hello,

This unit will not scan to PDF and email without sending it to the PC and then emailing it out. You will have to scan to the PC and then email it out.

Hi. The fax-module in lj 3055 needs a 100% analog dial tone. You might get it working on a internet-phone-line, but HP garantees nothing because there are so many internet-phone-providers, and all of them operates with different specs and line-quality. You might try to lower the baud rate, turn off JBIG compession and error-correction. If the problem still remains, you need to replace your phone-line to a 100% analog line. Not any internet or ISDN/adapter-stuff. You should test your fax on any analog line at a friends house, just to make sure the fax i working anway.

You must have an analog phone line to fax successfully.
