Lexmark X4875 InkJet Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Try to open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. Firmly hold the paper jam and carefully remove it from printer. Avoid tearing the paper, if possible. Leave no torn pieces in the printer to avoid future paper jams.

Please follow the steps below carefully:

1. Rebrick the printer by pulling out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer.
2. Press and hold the Start (green diamond) and the Cancel (red X) buttons at the same time.
3. Re-insert the power supply in the printer while still holding down the Start and Cancel buttons.
4. Release the two buttons when Language Selection appears on the printer display screen.

Try to reset your printer to factory default settings. Go to Maintenance -> hit check -> select Reset Defaults -> select first option only to reset factory defaults. Try to make a copy again.

What is the operating system of your computer? It could be a conflict of Lexmark software. Disconnect the printer from your computer (if it's connected with a USB cable). Try to uninstall the existing Lexmark X4875 printer software by going to the Start menu -> All Programs/Programs -> Lexmark 4800 Series -> Tools -> Uninstall. Reboot pc when prompted.
To reinstall, use the driver from the Lexmark website available at http://bit.ly/btpHyF. Select your operating system clicking on "change OS". (see sample below)


Then click on FILTER (see sample below)


Then click on the driver under Recommended Downloads. Download, execute the file and follow the instructions in the software.

Incorrect language appears on the display

These are possible solutions. Try one of the following:

Change the language selection during initial setup

After you select a language, Language appears again on the display. To change the selection:

1 Press or repeatedly until the language you want appears on the display.

2 Press to save.

Select a different language after initial setup

1 From the control panel, press or repeatedly to choose Setup.

2 Press .

3 Press or repeatedly to choose Change Printer Default Settings.

4 Press .

5 Press or repeatedly to choose Language.

6 Press .

7 Press or repeatedly until the language you want appears on the display.

8 Press to save and exit.
Note: If you cannot understand the language on the display, see "Resetting the printer to factory default settings" on page 57.

This is how you can install a printer to be a network printer. Depending on your version of windows determines how your network will work, but for the most part, as long as you have this printer connected to a Windows PC you should be able to set it up to print wirelessly this way.

Try going to manufactures website and updating your drivers. Look for newest driver and also check if it's compatible with Windows 7. This should help you with an issue. Good Luck

on most lexmark printers when it reports a paper jam with no paper it means that the main motor drive has not initiated. open the top lid and stick a q-tip in the sensor that tells the printer the lid is open. turn the printer on and observe to see if any of the feed wheels turn during self tast. if they do not you have a bad motor drive.

Check printer drive belt for worn out teeth and also ensure that the printer shaft is free of greezeand dirty.

Check your paper passege sensors, may the actuator is boken or one of sensors is dirt. Use blower to blow off dust.Hope this solves your problem.

go to printer properties in the control panel and click on latest driver

Please make sure the print head is seating properly as it should. Another reason could be the contacts of the print head are not connecting properly with the main printer due to dirt. Remove the print head, clean the contacts of the print head and where it seats at the printer. hope this will help

Yes it is true machine will print because its maybe need some type of repairing or the machine is not a printer of a photocopy

The problem with XP is that its not support by any new printers. However, you may be able to use the universal HP PLC5 driver to run the Lexmark.. According to Lexmark windows XP is a supported OS for this printer. Go to the Lexmark site, support and download the driver.
