this unit isn't real fast, if you get the job in under 5 minutes, your unit is working correctly. If you are not getting your jobs at all, or have to restart the unit to make it print, it has a bad formatter board.

Question is not clear.. >check copy. is it printing..> check the usb cable is it OK?>Un plug the usb cable,un install the drivers from the system,then connect the usb cable & check whether system recognized the printer? if no replace the Formatter assm, if yes re install the drivers with original CD.. check..

will u check printer's print cartridge is working condition ?? if yes ?
open printer door, remove print cartridge from printer. c inside left of printer, 2 earthing steal wire is there.. check both of properly connected or working ? check anyone is not push ? if yes ? pull with scrue driver,
reinsert print Cartridge again. turn on printer.. may be u r prob. will solve.

It could be one of several issues. 1st: Have you tried plugging into a different outlet on a different circuit breaker?2nd: Have you tried a different power cord?3rd. Has there been any power surge/storm before the issue manifested itself?4th: Does the fuser feel warm at all?If all the above have been done and you're confident those have been answered properly, then we go to the next possible cause:I suspect there might have been some sort of damage to the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) board. Not a cheap fix!

HI,
This a formatter failure, sounds like the formatter went out while trying to do a hard reset or after updating the firmware,
Try doing a nvram:
Turn the printer off and hold the down arrow and the cancel button
Turn the printer on while holding the two buttons down
Continue holding until you see the permanent storage message and wait for the ready message to display
If this doesn't work call hp and tell them that printer is frozen and will not initialize, this is due to a formatter failure. If it has been less than 2 years since the purchase date then you will apply for a service note and will be able to have the printer serviced for free, Contact hp's tech support at 1800-334-5144.
