Most of the time this error has to do with your internet connection. I would suggest you power off you PS3, unplug the power from your router for about a minute, plug it back in and give it a couple of minutes to boot up. Power up your PS3 and try your purchase again. This solves the problem most of the time so give it a try. Take care and good luck!

that error code means its having trouble signing into playstation online. check your router settings, and your network settings on the ps3.
hardwire the internet connection if at all possible.

Its called the red light of death,a work mate had the same problem and there is a repair costings around 25 pound

i have same problem i downloaded map pack 1 and 2 ages ago and i stoped playin cod5, i started again last night and my map packs seem to have dissapeared so i downloaded them again from previous downloads for free and i download in background fine i get to the little bubble one where i need to save it, it starts goes through to 100% then says ----- an error occurred during the install operation. (80029564) CAN ANYONE HELP?

Thats the Yellow light of death. Look it up and find out if you can fix it.. is your ps3 still under warranty? Because if it is, theres still hope of taking it back instead of paying $150 or having a refurbished model..

There is a worldwide issue which Sony are fully aware of which is affecting
all old model PS3's, The new slimline PS3's are not affected.

Due to an internal clock failure on the units they are not syncronsing with the
network time on the PSN's end. Causing error-8001050F

There is no official ETA although at 16:58 GMT today (1st March) Sony released a
statement stating they should have the problem resolved within 24 hours and have
advised all PS3 users experiencing issues NOT to use their PS3 until they
advise the issue is resolved as it could result in loss of functionality and
further damage.

This is a worldwide problem which has only struck recently, sony hope to repair it within 24hours and release a new update. They say it may damage your system to play it during this time but I think games where you can't gain trophys shouldn't do any harm.

This is an overheating problem. move your ps3 away from carpet, heat-making thing, and 4 inches away from EVERYTHING.

If there is a yellow light involved somewhere, then ig that^^^ and read this:

You have the Yellow light of death. The YLOD is the Red Rings of Death, except for the PS3.

I recommend Wiredextreme.com to service your system (if it's out of warranty). About half the price of a Sony repair and you get YOUR system back, unlike when you send it to Sony where you get some other random refurbished system. WE has a automatic 90-day warranty, the same as Sony, but WE also gives you the option to extend the warranty up to 4 years. the WE warranty covers the entire system, not just what they fixed on it.

Make sure you erase all of your personal info off of your PS3 and follow the instructions on the page above.

Oh, and if you send your system in to Sony, you will get a different copy of the game that is stuck in your system packaged separately and later than when you will get your system back from Sony.

your disk reader will be falty

take it back to the dealer who sold it you. if its off warenty just tell them about the _ sales of goods act _ just say this isnt my falt and i do not expect that my ps3 just stop working when i havent done anything bad to it.

the ps3 has a self over heat over ride which turns the ps3 off when getting too hot. if you left it on for long periods of time that might be the problem , if the sensor for the heat is falty that might be the problem or your ps3 might just need cleaning. EG/ to clean just get a vacume and **** all the dust out from the vents on tom and side

It sounds like your hard drive is crashing...just like a computer does. Try to find a friend with another PS3 and try to put your hard drive in their machine. If your hard drive is bad it wont boot up on their machine either.

I have the same TV, and a Sony BluRay player (not a PS3). I have the same problem.

I found it only does this when playing back 24p disks. My player has an option to disable 24p output to the HDMI, and it "fixes" the problem.

Not really a fix, but a workaround.

Not sure whether it is the TV or player, and sometimes I have fixed it by turning the tv off and on multiple times.

I am going to test the player on another monitor and see if it does the same thing. If so, the player is going back to the store.

If it's your password to your PSN I.D. than formatting your hard drive wont help. You will still need your password. The system should have a "forgot your password" option.

If you are behind a router then the nat setting needs to be enabled.
