20 Most Recent Alpine MRP-F300 Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers

Many options are available to connect your iPod to your car stereo. Back on September 7, 2005, Apple reported that approximately 30% of new cars sold in the US in 2006 would offer seamless integration with the iPod, and that number has been steadily increasing since then. In 2008, Apple heralded that "over 90 percent of new cars sold in the United States have an option for iPod connectivity".

As a result, third-party solutions have become less and less necessary for those lucky enough to be able to afford new or newer cars. Regardless, a round up of options still may be useful for those with older vehicles and/or limited budgets.

Test your subs on another amp....If they are fine then try running different rcas in your car from the stereo to see if they are the culprit. If still no sound probably your output on your amp is gone.

  • Hi, I can help.

  • If you amp started smoking then something burned up. Weather it is easily repaired or not is the question.

  • I suggest opening the amp and see what burned on the board. Look for and chard blackness on any of the ports or anywhere on the board. I would double check your wiring connections to the amp as well. Make sure you don't have a short from that. Something definitely burned in the amp though.

  • If you get the cover open and see something feel free to post back here and I can try to further assist you. Much will depend on your electronic skills and ability to trace back the problem should this be needed.

  • Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa

Regards, Tony

not usualy if you were running them before without the amp the speaker could have still easily blown. with just the deck running the speakers you can clip the sound and damage the coils hook up and amp then you force the power through an already damaged speaker finishing it off try another speaker. or if it was bought used amp may be no good the previous owner probably noticed it cutting in and out and sold it before it fried. or the deck is old and yes it is a possibility the radio went bad. if you used cheap rca cables yes it could be bad as well.

You need to wire them all together in parreallel or in series to get the correct ohm load. Check the wiring diagram at www.the12volt.com to see what your options are. the mrp amps are at a 2 ohm load smallest stable so makesure they are wired above or right at
