I have seen about a dozen questions here in the last ten days with several models with the same type of problem, Sony of course says they are not aware of this issue---typical for them to deny until smoke turns to fire.....

The LCD screen is most likely faulty.

Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Check this link and select the site named above. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

More than likely you have a bad LCD panel. This cannot be replaced. However, there are some instances where either the D4 board or D5 board is at fault. These can be replaced. I would keep your receipt thow in case you have to send the boards back.
