I HAVE NO PICTURE AND
Hi.
This sounds like your tv has been the unfortunate victim of electronic "flu".
Alot of flat screen tv's are suffering this same problem.
This has nothing to do with anything that you have done to the tv, ok?
This is because the electronic parts manufacturers back in the mid-90's decided to take profits over quality.
See, they made about 5,000,000 capacitors that were all defective, but instead of trashing them out and making good ones, they decided instead to leave them on the open market, and now they have finally made it through the manufacturing process and have been installed in tv's, computer monitors, car stereos, alarm clocks, and video game systems.
All these defective parts are failing now, instead of lasting the 25-30 years that they were supposed to, some are lasting only a few weeks to a few months.
The worst part of it is, since the parts that are defective were made so many years ago, the current companies that have been installing them aren't liable for the parts failing.
The vast majority of the time, no warranty work is allowed.
The TV can be repaired, but only as an out of pocket expense.
If you decide to get the set repaired, get estimates of the repair costs first.
I say this because to get the bad parts replaced with good ones can be al,ost as expensive if not more, than buying a new set.
There are a couple of places that have specialists trained to do the repair, if you decide to get it fixed.
Fry's, BestBuy, Staples, CompUSA, and Radio Shack all have trained specialists for this repair, because capacitors can hold SERIOUS electric charges in them, and if you thied to do the repair yourself, you could quite easily get injured.
I hope this helps you out, and try to have a good day.
