Hi there
I've just looked at that TV model, and it appears that your TV does not support a separate audio connection for HDMI sockets. It also appears that your laptop model has a issue with sending audio via HDMI. Are you running Linux, or windows?
Hope this helps

Got a svga/hdmi cord and
You probably would need the extra audio cords seeings as normal svga connection won't suppost sound streaming. mixing and matching connections is always a pain to perfect.
If you are using the HDMI end on your plasma, then you will have the video show up on the HDMI channel. Then get an RCA red and white pair - 3.5mm jack and plug the jack into your PC's audio connection port and the RCA's into the Audio In ports in the back of the TV.
Once done the TV should display video and play sound from the PC. Failing this, try a few different configuration but always keep the audio plugged into the same Audio in port on the TV. Bacause then you at least know the channel that the audio works on ;D
Hope this helps mate, any more q's just ask!

mmwerner6, The ac to dc power supply inside unit has found a problem (detected) and is holding itself (switch-mode-power-supply) in what is known as "shutdown mode" to prevent a catastrophic failure from occuring. e.g. sparks, smoke, fire! Use warranty first!!! If that not option then you or qualified lcd technician will need to investigate units SMPS for bad fuse and bad (swollen, leaky) electrolytic filter capacitors. Let ALL of us know what you find inside your unit!!!! 12fixlouie
Have a panasonic th50px600u,have no power
before replacing any more parts you should do some testing: first make sure that the power cord is ok (no, it's not stupid, you wouldn't belive how many times i stumbled on that); next you should check the noise filter; next the power button (including the starter contact); next the rectifier of the power board; next the output of the power board. From there , if you find a faulty output, you should check the parts/boards powered by that output. Only after you have identified the failed parts you should order them.
