I got this free Pdf manual from an online store for free and I don't think Ive visited a mechanic or fixya for help for more than 3-4 times out of the all the times I fixed the chipper in these 4 years

I had the same problem , you have to reset the stereo , what you have to do is take your faceplate off , there is a little hole that says reset press it with a little pin for about 10 seconds and then put it back it should work now... let me know if works

Need help the face was stolen of this unit n I'm trying everything I can to find a face for it...

When you switched the constant power and ignition signal wires, did it shut off while driving? I see you said it was wired correctly but It sound like a poor connection on one of those wires. Will the head unit turn back on again after shutting off while you’re driving?

Check back at the wire harness adapter and look at the connector pins. Make sure they’re all seated correctly and do the same at the head unit. If the factory radio never had this problem then it’s most likely what was recently added, harness adapter or connector pins/ crimped connection from pin to wire.

If you are trying to watch a dvd while driving (which you shouldn't) and without setting your parking brake then you'll need to ground the parking brake wire in the harness for your head unit.

yes, if your Jvc has a Bluetooth capabilities. You can ask a vendor that sells phone to car stereo receiver. By the way, I will not trust a phone to car stereo cable connector. Most of them doesn't work

Go back and double check ALL of your wiring..If it's getting hot that means one or more wires ARE NOT hooked up correctly..

Taking a flying guess the wire could have two possible functions - either providing the radio with additional illumination when the vehicle lights are on or if the illumination is permanent it could dim the display, etc. when the lights are switched on.
