More than likely, you shorted out a wire and blew a fuse. I have worked on cars for 19 years now and have several years under my belt as an electrician - and these things happen. Do yourself a huge favor from now on, spend the extra 25 bucks at best buy for the factory wiring harness adapter. It'll save a lot of headaches for you later on when you change the stereo back to sell the car, or install something else. I learned this the hard way myself. It is well worth doing things right the first time!
Not opening no power was
if you dont have power, one of your wires came loose, either pos or neg.
