When i turn my go gear the screen turns purple yet

try this ------ Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off.Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab.Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
-------- This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution if helped.thank you for using fixya.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

You should download and istall the Device Manager sofware from here:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sa5285_02/sa5285_02_pal_eng.exe

After that run Device Manager and connect your player via USB. Device Manager should say, that your player reported an error and would you like to repair it. Press "yes" to start repair.

If the Device Manager doesn't give you the option to repair, you should turn off the player and connect it by pressing the volume up (+) button. This will turn on the automatic repair mode. After that, everything goes as I've written before.

Hope that I could helped!

My philips player froze on the philips screen. it

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

The battery will not charge

You have to try using another battery to see if the battery is the problem. If same problem occurs even you try another battery, then there's a loose wire connection inside and needs to be soldered.

Have a gret day!

Philips GoGear 8GB stall at update screen

I just repeated the steps above on more than one computer until it finally connected and showed the songs, then I deleted everything, restarted it and voila` all the menu's showed up. Then the first thing I did was reset to factory settings. After that it worked perfectly. I don't really know what combination really fixed it, but I kept hitting the reset button, restarting while holding down the volume + key and the <loop> key until it eventually responded.

Problem installing hardware

What if you go to control panel and open the hardware wizard to add new hardware instead?
then try to browse to the location of the installation files (on disk or wherever you downloaded them.) Also maybe try going to the support site for your hardware online and download the latest installation files or drivers and install those instead of using the disk.
For any more, we need to know what OS you're using and what kind of errors you're getting when you attempt to install.
Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Uploaded songs from computer but songs won't play

First, makes sure your songs are in proper format for your mp3. The correct formats may be: mp3, wmv, wma, mp4.

Second, did the device fall off and hit something frequently? that might have caused a memory corruption, causing the player to freeze up.

Check if you can play just a few songs only, and If the player freezes even with just a few songs, the memory is corrupted and therefore must take it back for repairs.

hope this helps, have a nice day! ^_^
