My new lamp from Opto Lamps has a plastic tab on
I had the exact same issue with my new Panasonic PT-AE700u bulb. I contacted the company I purchased it from and they authorized the removal of the tab. I used my Dremel tool to slice it off and the bulb ended up working like a charm.
If everything else fits fine...the door just doesn't close, check with the company you purchased the bulb from and see what they recommend. This sounds like a common issue with "OEM" or "Original" bulbs these days.

Is this blue tinge on the left side of the screen
Your problem is the optical block failing. This is very common with the AE700s. It actually happened to me once before and I had it fixed. After having it replaced, it was recommended I run my fan on high mode, run the lamp on low mode and change the back lit color to black from blue to help thwart the issue. The optical block fails due to heat stress from the projector. Doing the things above lower the heat and extend the life of the block. I have a perfeclty good optical block if you would be interested as buying them new are extrememly expensive.

How far to mount projector from screen
It depends on a lot of factors -- how bright the area is going to be, the size of your screen, etc -- but you'll be roughly 9 to 14 feet from the screen for most settings.
I'm basing this on numbers for a PT-AE700U projector, as I wasn't able to find the AE700E.
Take a look at the
ProjectorCentral.com projection calculator if you want to get precise about the distance for your environment.
But be sure to rate my fix as "Helpful" before you click that link! :)

Panasonic KX-MB2025 Toner Low Problem???
Does the machine say replace drum or toner. Two different units. If toner did refill or install a new toner. There is a chip on most drums and toner to tell the machine they are new. if you refill the toner the chip is still going to tell the machine it is used.
