"DVD-AUDIO" is a specific type of ultra-high-end multichannel audio format that few people appreciate or understand enough to support in the commercial marketplace.

Movie DVD's are not "DVD-Audio". They are DVD's with audio of various formats. So don't sweat it if "DVD-Audio" is grayed out when you don't have a DVD-A disc inserted

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Turn the unit off.....reseat connector at the power board (supply).After reseating, turn it on again and the protect error will disappear....I have this problem after repairing the optr16 power supply that accidentally plugged into 220v...only the 5q1265rf (power switch)and 9v zener diode connected at optocoupler being damaged. hi,check first if your CD format is compatible with your player such as audio CD,mp3,VCD,DVD.etc.
If the CD plays on your player before then that is a lens issue this probably needs cleaning and if cleaning dont work then it's time to replace the lens of the player..and replacing the lens requires skills and proper tools I would suggest to bring your player to a qualified service personnel thanks and good good luck!

you have a short it curcuit and that is why it is shuting down and code comes on. Tech only fix

A short on the speaker wires can cause this but most likely your amplifier bias is off or you have a shorted transistor.

First unplug all connections, even the power. Let it sit for a minuit then power it back up.

If it clicks off them it needs professional service.

If it turns on inspect all of your speaker wires for shorts them reconnect them one at a time.

It could be that your system is activating thermal protection or short protection (low ohm). Perhaps there is poor airflow around the unit. If not, check the speaker wire for any shorts (wires touching) or crimps. Try disconnecting all the speaker wires from the unit and reconnecting them one speaker at a time. Wait long enough to see if the unit shuts off before connecting another pair of speaker wires.

Is the TV a Samsung as well? Check both devices to see if you have "Anynet+" is on, if so turn it off.

First of all, what is the remote control that you're using?

If you are using the remote control that came with the HTS unit and it's not working with the home theater, press the DVD RECEIVER button. That should work.

If not try this. Take out the batteries on the remote control and hold down the POWER button (without the batteries!!).

if you bought unit in usa it is fixed in region 1 not changeable.

you must select on remote press "audio" an when appers music on dvd you will have surround sound

well, i think mpeg4 is the format u need. this format can be accepted by hd home theater. And u should use this video tool which can convert any video files to mp4. Besides, it can offer u mp4 hd format as output format. Then u will not worry about quality loss.

On the rear of your TV connect, with a phono/RCA cable to the Audio R + L sockets, connect the other ends to your Yamaha using the TV in sockets. See photos attached Hope that helps. HDMI is for video unless the extra pins are added for audio.
