Make sure the shredder is in the plastic bin that was delivered with the unit and is seated in the proper direction. The clear plastic on the bin should be considered the front on the bin and the power switch on the top would be considered the rear.

I was having the same problem with my shredder. I called customer service; I was informed it was the gears on the inside of my shredder. My shredder is no longer under warranty. Don't open your shredder to repair it yourself because it will void your warranty. However, she is mailing me out the part I need for a small fee. There are 7 screws. You missed the one hidden under the small silver label.
Once you take it apart, don't waste your time calling Aurora as you voided your warranty and ability to get help from them. That happened to me.

have somebody check the fuse unless its over heated and burn the motor
