Unfortunately, it sounds as though the screen has died. There are a couple things to try before officially declaring it gone, but they are a long shot.
First off, try turning it of and turing it back on. Seems simple, but sometimes it allows the phones software to repair itself.
If that does not work, then try letting the phones battery run out completely, then recharging it.
It that still does not work, than your phone's screen has most likely lit it's last pixel. Hopefully, one of the two solutions listed with revive it.

All I can suggest for this is to take it to mobile phone specialist. They will have the tools to help. There is a possibility they will have to do a 'Hard' reset which often mean resetting to phone to factory settings. This means you risk losing your personal information like phone numbers, Photos and stuff you've saved on the phone. Pin codes are a security feature so naturally are hard to bypass.

This happened with facebook on my android. First try resetting your phone (turn completely off then back on). If that does not work go to settings and completely uninstall Instagram. Go to play center and re download it.
