ok can u turn the tumbler freely,
if no well there is something stuck in you blower like a sock or something
if the tumbler turns freely
keep the door open and hold the door switch
try pushing the start button
and tuning the tumbler, yes all three at the same time lol you may need a hand
try tuning the tumbler when you hear a hum
if it takes off bad news your start winding on the motor is bad or the capacitor depending on your model
if it does not turn, but the hum continues longer than 1-2 minutes it could be just a belt

dryer will not stop running

my frigidaire affinity electric front loader dryer will dry, the timer will count down, and at the end of the cycle the heat will strop but the machine will continue to tumble and run. I can not get it to stop running unless I unplug it from the outlet. When I'm ready to use it again I plun it back in and it immediately starts tumbliing. I press the cycle I want and the heat starts. When the timer reaches zero and the cyclce is done the heat turns off but the machine contines to tumble so I have to unplug it.

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

my Frigidaire dryer will not start. It shows a PF

my Frigidaire dryer will not start. It shows a PF trouble code. What does this mean?

PF is showing you that there is a power problem. Check your dryer circuit breaker at the power panel. This can be a sing that one of the 2 breakers has tripped. Push the CB hard to OFF and then back to ON. Then try and start your dryer. If that does not work just respond here and I will help you.

Try selecting "No Heat" after resetting the CB and see if the dryer starts. If it does you could have a bad heating element that caused the breaker to trip to begin with. Sometimes when the heating element fails the broken link will contact the chassis and cause the CB to trip. Heating element failures are usually caused by poor airflow. You may want to look for any signs of lint in your dryer to include the lint filter area and all the way to the outside wall exhaust point.

Hi mommylein...

Here are a few things to check:
ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then:
Check your Wiring
Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. If this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.
Check the Door Switch
If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. Check for continuity you should have none with door open, and should have a reading when closed. If not replace the door switch.
Check to make sure you heating problem is not a lint build up in the discharge hose or the dryer,as this condition can cause heater/thermistor problems such as overheating of the heating coil leading to failure of the coil and burnout of the thermostat/thermistor due to overheat.
Remove the back/or front just under the door of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside/outside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistors. Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse one at a time by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape.
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse as it is faulty.
If you have an ohm meter then you can test the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse,
then you do not have to tape the wires together as described above.
To test your thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse remove the wires from the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse and check for continuity, if you DO NOT have continuity then replace the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse.
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST AS THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE BECAUSE YOU HAVE REMOVED THE SAFETY.
Check your blower wheel to make sure it is secure to the shaft and not plugged with lint, socks, etc.
If the thermal fuse overheats the dryer will not operate. It's located on the blower housing. It cannot be reset.
You can test it with an Ohm meter or continuity checker, remove both wires from the thermal fuse and put the test probes to each of the ends of the thermal fuse, if no continuity then replace the thermal fuse.
A vent clogged with lint can cause it to overheat.
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on 'air fluff' / 'no heat', and go outside to verify there's plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element can burn out very quickly.

Affinity Dryer has all LED lights blink and then it stops running

My dryer will start and run for ten minutes or so before all three LED lights on the right light up and flash on and off then it quits running. After opening the lid clothes are still wet and cold as if drum isn't heating up.

Hello everclavel - Try reprogramming the dryer by flipping the household circuit breaker off or unplugging it. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, the dryer could possibly be experiencing a communication error with the main control board, wiring failure, or faulty door lock assembly. Connect with a certified technician to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.

Hello florekedward - Typically error code E64 indicates that the dryer has detected that the heater circuit is open. If I was in your position, I will highly recommend consulting a professional to move forward accurately. The certified technician will need to check the heater coils and connections for open circuits. Depending on the diagnosis the heater or wiring may need replacing

Dryer door pops open during cycle

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer door keeps popping open during the cycle. I suggest making sure that the door has been completely closed before starting the cycle. If this is done, and the door is still popping open, there might be something going on with the door latch. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine why the door keeps opening mid-cycle. Hope this is helpful.

-Best regards-
