Are you sure the power outlet in your car is working? You could have a blown fuse in the car fuse panel and the power outlet is dead.

Unless you can find someone local it will cost as much to replace the battery as a new unit. My recommendation, go find a deal on a Nuvi 40 or 50 ($60-$100) or learn to do it your self and get the battery from somewhere like Batteries plus

because it is old and dead.... no seriously, your cell phone doesn't last 6 years, why do you expect this to? if it does not respond to a power button, powered into a car or plugged into a computer, the unit is toast.

You should always charge a battery in gps devices for at least 24 hours.

unplug the device from the computer and reconnect. after connection is established you need to enter garmin webupdater in google follow the prompts. step number two. please make sure u have garmin express installed on your pc to reinstall the map data. thanks paul

to update a garmin nuvi 255w gps u need to download garmin express. my garmin dashboard will no longer work for map updates
