There are four screws on the back (phillips #0) to unscrew. Batteries Plus has a replacement battery (part # PDA-192LI) they will have to change the connector from the old battery to the new battery. Plug it in and put it back together and it will work fine.

Maxell 653443 battery has a very thin black plug, all the so called replacements have a white plug that is twice as thick. Where can I find the exact replacement?

The good news is that it has 25% more power than the original. The not so good news is that you will have to replace the plug on the new battery with the one from the old battery. If this is not something you want to attempt take the old battery to Batteries Plus, they will sell you a new battery and take the plug off your old battey and put it on the new battery.

Before you can tell if it is repairable or not, you need to carry out some tests before you conclude what the problem is.
Insert your battery in another lowrance gps, then charge it for about 2 hours then power it on, if it comes on, then the fault is not from the battery, but if it does not come on, then it means the battery is bad and need to be replaced with a new one.
Test your charger by trying to use it on another lowrance gps device to see if it will charge. If it charges, then the charger is alright, but if it does not, then the problem is that the charger is bad and need to be replaced.
If both seem to be okay, then you need to test the gps device by connecting it to a computer to see if it will work, if it does not connect then there is a problem with the connecting port or there is an internal problem that can be solved by disassembling the device.

I am assuming you mean your SD card with the 1.8 update on it. Just put in your computer and delete the update or reformat it.

The easiest way to put music on the GPS is to put it on a SD card

Get a new battery at Batteries Plus. Take the GPS in and they have to switch the connecter end from the old battery with the one on the new battery (part # PDA-192LI) and put the unit back together and everything will work fine. I just did it today. The cost was $25.19 :)

You will need to download the update on your Lowrance XOG before it will recognize the music files. Click on the link below to update:

Touch the MAIN MENU in the top let corner.
Touch the ADDRESS option.
Touch the CHOOSE option.
Enter the name of a State or Province and touch DONE.

Use the keyboard to enter a City or Zip. Once the unit has determined the city, it will prompt you to enter an address. The unit will sometimes provide a list with more than one address that closely resembles the one you entered.
Scroll through the list of addresses provided by the unit and make your selection. When an address is selected, a dialog box will appear with three choices: Add to Addressbook, Find on Map and Go To.

The ADD TO ADDRESS BOOK will add the address to your list of contacts in the Address Book.
FIND ON MAP will show you that location on the map screen.
GO TO will start navigating you to the location and begin giving turn by turn instructions.

even if you already had the latest...try installing it again.
