Hi Dear,

Check the mention below instruction to solve you problem.

1. Is the boot sequence in BIOS set to boot from CD or DVD, if not I would suggest you to go to BIOS and change the boot sequence to boot from CD and try to boot from the CD

2. Is the computer custom built or OEM built?

3. What is the model number and who is the manufacturer of the computer?

4. Have you made any changes to the computer by installing any new software or hardware?

5. Since when are you unable to boot the computer normally?

6. You need to get Windows Vista DVD to perform further troubleshooting either to scan the computer or to perform repair install, I would suggest you to contact the computer manufacturer to obtain vista DVD.

Best first step is to make sure that you have the most current driver from Acer. If you are unsure if it's current just doenload the one that is right for your operating system.
Either way re-install the drive! (YES, even if it said that everything is operating correctly).

first, try it without the battery, on rare instances, the battery shorts out the unit, otherwise you have a bad power distribution board which most likely is part of the mainboard.

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. By default Acer wont enter any BIOS password however, if you have forgot BIOS password then you have to reset CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battrey, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will short the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battrey & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.

Thanks and regards,

I suggest you clean the laptop's air INTAKE duct, with air from a can of compressed air for computers.

1) ALL power removed from the laptop. AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) Laptop closed and turned over, Front facing you.

The Air Intake Duct is up on the right, IN the removable panel.
It has 14 vent slots. 2 columns of 7 slots.

This is where the Cooling Fan draws air up, and in.
The air is then exhausted to the outside vent of the case.

Use Short Bursts of air. Squeeze the trigger in all the way, then let go fast.

You don't want to spin the fan faster than it was designed for.
Spinning the fan faster than it was designed for, can lead to premature failure of the Fan's bearings }

I suspect though, that the 'Gunk' inside is going to need to be physically removed.

Don't forget to use an ESD wrist strap, and connect the alligator clip to a good ground source.
