Hi,
Try unplugging the unit for 60 minutes, then plug back in and try it
again. This will reset the processor and hopefully the unit will operate
normally. Check all the speaker wiring for shorts, make sure they're
also not touching the chassis of the receiver, or are not otherwise
pinched or frayed. If all looks well, try disconnecting all the speakers
and cycle the power off, then on again.
If it power up, try
connecting the speakers one at a time until one of them shuts the
receiver down. Check this speaker with a multi-meter and make sure it is
reading between 4-8 ohms.
If not, the speaker may
be blown and is causing the receiver to see a short and therefore power
down. The "Protection" will stay lit because of a short inside the
unit, and is protecting the rest of the components for further damage.
It will automatically disappear once the condition is fixed.
Honestly though, if this is happening already, I would exchange
the system as soon as possible or if you have an upgrade option, see if
you can get a Philips, or Samsung system as they have better reliability
in general based on what I've seen and read.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The "protect" function is shutting the syetm down to protect the electronic components inside it. Usually caused by a lackof earth in the plug or extension lead. Plug it straight into the wall and check it, if it is still the same then it could be a speaker wiring short circuit, disconnect the speakers and plug it in on its own and test it
Error message "Protect"
you can try to hold the stop button down for 5 seconds while the power is off to reset. If that doesn't work disconnect all the cables from the back expect the speaker cables and the power cable. then turn the unit on and reconnect the cables once the unit is on.

The most common problem found on FixYa for Audio Video Receiver's is:
My
receiver say's "Protect" or turns on then off. What's wrong? Seven
times out of ten it is a shorted speaker or speaker wire. To
determine your exact problem, the first step is to disconnect all
speaker wires "at your receiver" Next: Turn the receiver back on. If
your receiver still says "protect" or turns off, it needs to be
serviced. If your receiver stays on; reconnect your speakers one at a time and power back
up after each speaker. You may find that after reconnecting all speaker
wires it works! Most commonly the small braids of wire from the + to the
- have touched and have caused the problem. In some instances, you
noticed the problem only when turning the volume up. either way, make
sure the exposed wires to your receiver are no longer than 1/2" long and
are completely under the screw down terminal or slide in.
When you've found the wire or speaker with the problem, your receiver
will go back into "protect" At this point, disconnect the wire from the
speaker at the speaker that may be causing the problem then test again.*
Note* Make sure speaker wires do Not touch each other as this Will
cause a short! If you turn the receiver back on and it stays on, you now
know the problem is in your speaker itself. To test your speaker, you
will need a multimeter. Set it to ohms resistance and touch the speaker
terminals, if there is a short internally the meter will read "1......"
If it's an analog meter, it will peg to the right. There's your problem.
Now, within any speaker there are quite a few possibilities as to what
could be causing the problem. Most common is a blown coil and the
speaker needs to be replaced. Some speakers have
internal crossovers (usually floor standing speakers) and may have a
shorted or burnt board (usually very visible brown burn marks on the
board) and can possibly be repaired if your handy with a soldering iron.
Now, if you disconnect the speaker wire at the speaker and it still
says "protect" Check your wire for the obvious cut or nail thru
the wire if possible. If your system has wiring that runs
behind walls, you may need to use your meter again. Disconnect the wire
at both ends, keep the ends separated, put your meter on ohms resistance
and touch probes to the + and - wires at one side. If the meter pegs to
the right or reads "1...." the wire is shorted and needs to be replaced
or repaired at the short. Hope this helps.
What is the electricity voltage of samsung htz 310

Here's the manual in pdf format. It should tell you what the input voltage is. (I'm assuming that's what you're talking about.
No DVD is playing and says disc error all times
Hello,
how long have you been using this player? The problem should be from the lens (laser).
The lens is weak and that's why it cannot read/load DVD's. The weak lens is also what's making it say disc error.
Get
a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, but if the lens still does
the same thing even after using the lens cleaner, then it means you
would have to change the whole lens completely to a brand new one.
By so doing your player would play all DVD's with no problem at all.
Good luck.
My HT-z310 dvd player does not read when i put dvd
Try manually pushing dvd drawer in after pushing open/close. I opened mine up and noticed the dvd is not spinning - I don't think the drawer is completely closing over. BTW this is not a permanent fix - it doesn't work all the time.
