I need to get a nasty smell out of dw
you can try a product available at appliance parts stores called YSANO and follow the directions on the bottle. you can also try dumping in the bottom of the dishwasher about 6 - 8 cups of white vinegar and running the machine without dishes in it. hope this helps.

My dishwasher does not start when shut the door.
Check that you have power to the machine. The door lock has a switch on it that if opened shuts the DW off during operation( adding extra dishes). This switch can fail and cause the DW not to start. Carefully examine the door interlock for dammage(bent parts, broken off pins, ect). If necessary you will have to open the case at the top of the door to inspect the switch. I the plunger on the witch is stuck down in the body of the switch then it is probably bad. They can be checked with a multimeter. Some DW's will have 1 switch many have 2-3 on the door interlock.

The pipes froze in my house and now the dishwasher
If the temperature dropped in the home too the water retained within the pump and the units lower assembly may froze which may have cracked which woul leak heavily. It mat be by chance too that the seal within the pump has failed. If it leaks only when the pump runs chances are the seal may be out; if however it leaks with nothing running it may be a crack. Another spot to check is the fill solenoid. You need to get underneath it or pull it out to determine where the leak is coming from.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

Viking dishwasher fills then goes
There is spring located on the plunger to bring it back up closed this sound like it has fallen it is very small about 1 inch long if the d/w drains still and plunger is up there is a plastic and rubber flapper in the pump that operates water release function there is a rubber stop in this in the center that somtimes dis lodges leaving an open hole that will allow water to seep out it is not related to your drain hose at all thanks hope this helps
the only way to see is to remove motor and inspect drain flapper any sort of rubber plug or grommet that will fit in it securely will work im not sure if you can order rubber plug seperate if there are any used appliance or parts store
around you they might have an old motor that is bad and the rubber stop would be in it The motor is held in by 1 arm bolted to the or motor hangs off an arm and the 2 boot clamps from the tub good luck
Thanks

Water valve not working and leak under dishwasher
The water leaking causes the float switch to activate the drain pump and as long as there is water in the pump housing area that is the only thing that will run.
Remove the water from below the unit and it should run long enough to trace the leak.
The easiest way to access this is to uninstall the unit and remove the lower back panel. remove the water wih a shopvac
remember to shut the power off.

HOW TO REPAIR A HOLE IN MY DISHWASHER
It depends upon the material you are trying to repair but Araldite or any good quality two part epoxy will suffice to fill the hole.
Ensure the area is dry and clean then build up the repair . Larger holes will require multi additions of epoxy.

What year is this Kenmore dishwasher Model # 665.15831791 made?
The date of manufacture is determined by the SERIAL NUMBER on the appliance. This dishwasher was manufactured by Whirlpool. The following link explains how to determine when it was manufactured:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576437-determining_the_age_of_your_whirlpool_ap
The serial number is usually located somewhere around the door opening. The first two numbers in the serial number identify the WEEK it was manufactured (52 weeks in a year). The second DIGIT in the serial represents the YEAR it was manufactured.
If you have difficulty determining the manufacture date, please post back with your serial number and I will assist you. I hope you find this information helpful.
