Frigidaire FMV157GM Microwave Oven - Page 2 Questions & Answers
No power or lights at all. Fuse is OK, Tested
You can check the TCO- thermal control contact sensor.by using a meter for checking the continuity. If open then replace if not then you can check on the relay trigger, check on the circuit trigger to the relay that must switch the lights, fan and microwave.
See if the door latch switch is contacting because only when the door is latched the switch contacts to give supply to the microwave circuit.
Hope you test on these tips.

Hello,
You probably have either a shorted base thermostat on the base of the
chassis of the oven or a shorted fan relay on the control circuit board.
The base thermostat (which I believe has thinner pink and yellow wires
attached, but not thicker black wires) should read normally open.
If it shows continuity (virtually zero ohms or shorted) then it is bad.
Check the above stated to see where the problem lies and fix it.
Take care.
Needs new exhaust fan start capacitor
The motor run capacitor for this model (C100 on the power board) is a 7uF 230V type and the part number is RC-QZB014MRE0.
You can order parts from
Encompass here
or you can call them toll-free at
866-779-5835.Or a local appliance parts store may have that one or one close enough to work, as long as it's rated at 230V or greater and about 7uF (microfarads).
It may not be a bad capacitor, it may just be a bad solder connection at the capacitor, or possibly at the relay that runs the hood fan (RY6) or the connector CN-A.
Lastly, the bearings in the motor may be dry or dusty.
I would check the connections on the control board first.
We have
the service / repair manual for this model and have uploaded
it to our
site here for free download to help you.
It will
give you safety info, step by step help in disassembly, and troubleshooting
tips, but it does not show the capacitor part number.Since this is made for Frigidaire/Electrolux by Sharp, I got it from another Sharp manual. This capacitor is used in several Sharp models.

Microwave not heating everything is normal
The fuse for the Litz coil and magnatron tube is blown or the tube has gone belly up. Open it up and look for the fuses and replace them. If this does not work it is more economical to buy a new one.
Microwave not heating
OK, you have two components that are faulty. the magnetron and the turntable motor as well. replacing these two components will fix both issues.
My microwave oven is not heating the food
HI, you will need to replace the heating device. This device is called the Magnetron and, it will cost you about $133.00. This is a repairable issue but, you will need to call for service. I do not recommend installing this device if you are not familiar with handling this type of tech.
Frigidaire Microwave FMV157GC
I had the problem where the timer continues to count down but turntable doesn't turn, fan doesn't come on and food doesn't heat. Holding the door up worked for awhile but even that temporary method stopped working.
I bought a door interlock switch the cost $23 from an appliance repair place and replaced it myself. It worked like a charm. To replace the switch, you need to remove 3 screws that hold the plastic grille above the door, which exposes the 1 screw that is holding the control panel. Remove that screw and slide the control panel up to remove it. There are three switches left of the panel. Note the middle swich has a different part number so I'm not sure what that one is called. The bad one on mine happen to be the bottom one. The switch is held on by a "pin" and tab that holds it in place. Push the tab and spin the switch on its "pin" past the tab to remove. Reverse your step to put the new one on. I hope this helps.
Fmv156dsb, when the timer is on you have to push up
This
is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch
mount (which are pretty simple problems to fix) or
occasionally a
problem on the control panel.
Door switch
or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening
the
door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
There are
plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and
onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.
The screws on these
mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be
activated properly.
Sometimes it's
a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just
out of position. This tab
can be hard to see, since it is under the
bottom edge of the switch.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control
panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very
helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can download it here.If you only need a

Broken door handle. I need instructions
You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached
photo)and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to
remove. Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done. You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here. We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
Surface lights
We see (and repair) this
a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which
we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a
week.
At
our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
This light failure often
occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament
shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first
unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a
failure on the controller.
This can often also
affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be
inoperable or stuck on too.

full model number) for more information & help.

Broken door handle, have part but can't put it on.
Thats disgusting mate! The doors are either clip together, plastics or if stainless as per photo, it would require opening the case, removal of door then prising off the fascia trim to get to the handles.
I'd ring them back up, that is not a user servicable part as it will bugger the finish trying to separate the doort.
Best of luck
