If the HV capacitor goes open circuit the voltage doubler circuit will fail and result in no power to the Magnetron. If the HV capacitor goes short circuit that will result in an extra load on the power transformer eventually failing the mains fuse. Either way the magnetron will not be able to produce power.
the magnatron is on its way out taking into consideration how much they cost to replace in most cases my customers decide to replace the units with new microwaves
as the unit was running at the time it stopped the fault is simple your microwave has blown its fuse. the question is why? in some cases the fuse simply fails to hold in this case i would replace the fuse and be on my way. or the microwave has suddenly formed a crossed circuit. the fastest and cheapest way to test this is the way most techs do it but its dangerous.!! so you decide weather to do it or have it seen to by a tech. take the back of the unit the master fuse will be at the back just were the power cord runs in replace the white fuse (ceramic) with the same volt and value as the one in it put the back on (for safety) plug it in and try cooking with it if it goes great if not its a big fault and in the bin it goes.
This
is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch
mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.
See our file on door switches here. At
our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. We're happy

If "control panel not working" means no display, clock not on, etc. but the interior light comes on when the door is opened(power is being received and transmitted from transformer\rectifier) I would check to see if power is being received by control panel(with a multimeter, checking for voltage at the input terminals). If it is receiving power but not working, the "repair clinic" on the internet is a great place to look for replacement parts.
Hi,
Keypad is going bad, but there may be other problems also... Here is a tip that will help you to figure out what is wrong with yourMicrowave Oven....

This light failure often
occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament
shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first
unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a
failure on the controller.
The lights can can be
inoperable or stuck on or stuck in "night light" mode. Sometimes this will similarly
affect the fan operation or inside light, too.

Check if the door handle is got loose or if the door handle is got internally loose. If the door handle checked ok.Then check the door closing switch. If there is a short in the door switch/latch wirings then it must be causing the motor in the unit to get command to function automatically. So the tray rotates automatically.
