My dishes ang glasses are cloudy *** well as the doors
The cause of the cloudiness is usually due to hard water drying on the dishes and can turn into etching (or pitting) of your dishes. If you have particularly hard water it is well worth investing in a water softener or filters. 2nd; Use plenty of rinse agent (jet dry or similar). Rinse agent gives your dishes a sheen (almost like waxing your car) and helps the dishes dry quickly and cleanly. 3rd; Clean the d/w every 1 to 3 mths. using a good cleaner. Hard water deposits can be cleaned with a little CLR. Use GLISTEN to clean your d/w. Glisten is not found in grocery stores but can be found online or at an appliance parts shop for 5-6 dollars. For water supply, use a braided stainless steel flexible dishwasher supply hose with 3/8 compression ends on each side and a 3/8 male NPT x 3/8 compression elbow adapter. There is a tee with 3/8 female compression x 3/8 male compression x 3/8 male compression which can be used between the hot water shut off valve and the supply tube to the kitchen sink faucet to get your hot water with no significant plumbing work. Make sure the drain hose does not run straignt down back to the dishwasher. (put a loop up to make sure no dirty water tries to go back to the dishwasher.) If installing drain to a disposer drain port, make sure the knock out plug has been removed. It's also easiest if the floor under the dishwasher is at the same hight as the rest of the floor in the kitchen. Make sure wire nut connections are tight for electrical.
We installed an LG dishwasher (LDF6920ST) a couple
Check that the drain hose end (connected to a garbage disposal?) is not plugged or connected to a slow/plugged drain.
Then run an empty load and start up the dishwasher and wait until the water has finished flowing in. Then open the door and add one cup of vinegar. Allow that cycle to drain and repeat one more time, adding the vinegar _after_ the rinse water has finished being added.
If problems return, use a phillips screwdriver to remove the approximately 9 screws that hold the lower strainer assembly. You will first need to remove the lower spray arm. Inspect with a flashlight looking for any debris in that sump area.
LG LDF6920ST Bottom spray arm dose not work
The LG LDF6920 dishwasher has an innovative "Vario" motor/check valve. It switches between full power spray on the upper arms and the lower arm. So, if you are looking inside the dishwasher to see which arm is spinning, you just have not opened it when the lower arm is turning.
if the root problem is that your dishes are not getting clean with this water conserving DW, go out and buy a name brand detergent powder - like Electrosol or Cascade. And use less powder then you have been using.
Good Luck!
Our new LG dishwasher makes loud clunking noise
I believe this is a brand new dishwasher. Please listen carefully to determine of the sound you hear (clunk) is being made inside the dishwasher or is it being made near by. Most times, the problem is that the hot water pipe is baking the noise when the dishwasher closes the water inlet valve ... and the pipe goes "clunk"
I have not had an LG dishwasher make a clunking sound inside itself when the cycle changes. Also, because this dishwasher is so very quiet (well insulated) the pipe banging would be louder than something inside the Dishwasher.
If you have access to the hot water pipe, listen very near it when the cycle changes for the sound. Follow that pipe (hot water) pipe back and insulate it at the point it is banging. (or get a plumber to evaluate and resolve.)
Please get back to me with what you find, OK?
Good Luck!
Ldf6920 whistles and chirps the water valve adjustment doesnt fix
Hi,
This can be 1 or 3 things.
In theis machine your inlet valve is protected by a filter. When the inlet filter is clogged by limescale it will whistle like crazy.
That is one
2 the inlet valve can be defective ( number M210) in the sites I will provide.
3 the seal of the airbraker can be leaking.
HERE is service manual of the LDF6810 which is actually more or less the same machine.
HERE you can see similar drawing +parts list so you can order
Good luck
LG ldf8072st after 40 minutes or so into a wash I get a IE code.
Make sure the water valve is fully opened. Check the water supply hose. Make sure that the line is not kinked or sharply bent.
...
Check the following for the IE error:
- Check the water pressure.
- Check the water tap or valve.
- Check the water supply hose.
- Check the water supply.
