The numbers are generic and don't mean a thing. They are there to make you feel like you have control. Anything under 1 should be very much frozen. If it is not then you have T-stat problem and should address that. Chest freezers run at -25f on average if the freezer has enough product in it. The more food in the freezer the better and more efficiently it will run.

Hi Rachel For your door to close properly take off the gasket from your fridge and wash it with hot water. It will be softer and stick to the fridge much easier.

Sounds like a circulation problem. Does it have a fan inside the freezer. Should be bdhind the floor or one of the wall panels. There should be a vent for the air to circulat through. If so check to make sure it's running when the compressor runs.

The light is there to indicate there is power. If it is running constantly and still not cooling properly there is a problem in the sealed system (or the door is not sealed completely, but there would be a lot of frost were this the case. The cover being gone will not hurt anything. It may be missing but its ok. Some dont even come with the unit anymore. its all ok.

There shouldn't be any 'jingly tone' at the end of every compressor cycle. You could be hearing something else making a sound after the compressor stops.

The defrost water from the melted frost (ice) collects in the bottom of the freezer. If there is no plugged up drain, then you must remove the water manually with a sponge and bucket after a defrost cycle.

If it’s in floor if freezer, you have a clogged defrost drain. If it’s on inside back freezer wall, it’s a defrost problem

The solenoids that operate the ice maker and the water dispenser in the door may be getting water internally. I would put a pressure regulator on the line of the pressure exceeds 30 PSI.

The freezer is where the cold air is generated. It knows that is not logical to turn off the fresh food side so it determines that it needs the cold from the freezer side, so it over rides the error and will attempt to start.
