Well, Santa messed up this year! We purchased a Smart Cycle from Target, and left it set up in the house while we visited family....when we returned, there it was, all set-up and ready from "Santa" for our 4 1/2 year old son. The system comes with one game cartridge...we turned on the unit, and my son followed the directions (while I was standing there) and then the problems started. First, the system completely locked up soon after he began peddling....then, the system would re-start. We changed to another cartridge, and the same problems. I've checked other sites, reviews, etc., and the only problems I've found are with the peddles coming loose, so I'm guessing this might just be a faulty system that needs to be exchanged?
If your games are freezing up, or you are getting a garbled screen, or a split screen (solid color block on one side, black on the other)......spray some windex on the circuit board of the game cartridge and clean with q-tips. I know it sounds crazy; but I took the smart cycle apart this weekend trying to diagnose the problem. Ours kept having the above problems, and it seemed to me like a bad connection between the game cartridge and the "slot". Nothing worked until I finally tried the windex as a last ditch effort. WORKED LIKE A CHARM. Tried a game, didn't worked, cleaned with windex, works now no problem. This worked for all six of my game cartridges, when none of them would work before.

Leave the file on your PC and use TVersity to index and Transcode ALL your videos to your XBOX360 on the fly. No conversion needed. I have copied all my sons DVDs to my PC (he kept messing em up) now I store the originals as backups and play the movies from his xbox with TVersity

Do you have any troubleshooting help for a Leapfrog Leapster? The touch screen doesn't seem to work anylonger (even after new batteries). Any help on how to fix it so that the pen will work with the touchscreen would be great. My niece gave it to me for my toddler to use...so I would guess it would be about 4-5 years old (the original Leapster).
Got my son's to work. Used these instructions.
Question
Why doesn;t my Leapster2 respond to the stylus pen?
Answer
If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
2) Hold down the Hint button while turning the unit on
3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
5) Restart unit

Hi i have a leapster but it wont switch on I also have no manual if i could just find the manual id sort it out
my leapster 2 was working beautifully, then decided to die. It did turn on briefly to tell me to put new batteries in, which I had already done. Check that it still works by hooking it up to a 9v adaptor, if so, then take the batteries out, wet some cotton buds and gently clean each battery connector inside the battery compartment. Even if it doesen't look like there's rust, there might be a tiny bit, stopping the battery registering. I did this and now it's working fine.

the screen seems so dark
That particular model does not have a backlit screen. The original Gameboy advanced models like yours all had no backlights and this was a major flaw in the systems design. There was a company that made something called the afterburner. This was a backlight system that you could add to the gameboy, but it was pretty tough to install correctly as you had to take the entire system apart and could damage things. Your best bet would be to trade in your current model at a gamestop or similar store and try to pick up a Gameboy Advanced SP model (the square one). The Gameboy Advanced SP was a redesign of the original GBA and featured different dimensions, and a larger / backlit screen.

sony str-av570 makes clicking noise when shut off for a while. when turned on a flashing p in the display shows up. I hear clicking noise and nothing works. When i unplug the receiver for a while and plug it back in, it works fine. So long as i keep the receiver on there is no problem.

We just bought the Leapster 2 for our daughter 2 months ago. The sound started to sound kind of fuzzy and now it just doesn't work at all. She hasn't dropped it that I know of.
We got our daughter a Leapster2 for Chrstmas 08. One day the sound just stopped working. Called Leapfrog. They said to insert a cartridge, and turn the unit on. Plug headphones into the headphone jack. Then rotate the headphone plug-in 360 degrees,( It is easier to hold the heaphone plug-in and rotate the leapster2). Unplug the headphones and check to see if the sound works. Leapfrog said try it more than once, and if it does not work contact them,1-800-701-5327. We tried it and Hallelujah it worked!
