Nikon COOLPIX L18 Digital Camera - Page 2 Questions & Answers
How to remove protected pic
i glanced through the manual but didn't see anything specific. usually the same process as 'protecting' can be used to remove protection from an image or images. additionally, formatting the card will remove even protected images*.
*use with caution
After 4 or 5 photos I get `out of memory`.
Are you using your cameras built in memory or an add on memory card? Your camera comes with a very small built in memory. If that is all you have, you will run out of memory quickly. You need to buy a large memory card (8Gb or more) for your camera and go in your camera's menu to make sure that the camera is set to write your pictures to the add on card rather then the camera's internal memory.
What does battery exhausted mean?
It means the batteries are drained or empty. Put in a fresh set of batteries, or recharge them if you're using rechargeable batteries.

Power on green light on coolpix L18 is blinking. Why? Camera won't work.
This might not work with all cameras, but try it anyway...
Take out your battery and memory card. Put them back in with the battery being first. Try and charge.
You might still have problems charging with the USB lead to the camera. In such a case, you should buy a proper charger that you can put the battery into and charge it. Sometimes charging through the camera doesn't work.
I cant charge my nikon coolpix s6150
Hi, that happened to mine too but I found out that there was nothing wrong with either the camera or the battery. Simply put it, the charger that came with the camera is not capable of charging the battery up after it has been totally drained. Thus, I bought a charger to charge my battery separately and now it works totally fine.
File contains no image data errors msg & will not download pics
This happened to me. When it says: file contains no message, this is because when you coppied to them to a different file on your computer to have tham on there, you probably accidently cut some of those pictures. Therefore you deleted them off your camera. Just delete them off your camera, since they are already on the computer. Then save your pictures to a disk so you can take them to the store to get them developed.
I don't know any of your other stuff, or what you talking about. I hope tthis helps, and I wasn't just off.
"File contains no image data"
Try a new SD card. SD cards do fail.
The socket inside the camera maybe no good - bad connections.
The camera may have liquid damage - this causes all kinds of weird issues.
I try the cards in my computer reader. If they can be used all day there (I load and unload stuff randomly all day to test and then put the card in a drawer for a few days and check what I loaded later), the fault is likely the camera.
This card cannot used
If I'm wrong i my assumptions, please let me know what card you are using.
Your camera is compatible with MMC, SD and SDHC cards up to 4GB. Possibly it can work with some cards higher than 4GB, but Nikon does not mention that. But if you try to put in a memory card SDXC, it never will work at all.
If you are using a memory card, that has been used in another camera, and it has some exotic format on it, or even worse if it was in a UNIX system (Router) the camera cannot read the file system at all.
Try to format the memory card in an extern memory card reader connected to a computer. Try FAT12 or FAT16.
If that works, you can try again and if the camera does not have any problem, do a format in the camera.
When removing the memory card, please check all contacts of the card and in the camera. The contacts should be clean and shiny. If not try cleaning them with a dry cloth. ever use sharp tools in a camera or close to a camera.
Nikon Coolpix L18 Driver
You don't need the disk to transfer your pictures from your camera to your computer. Just take your
sd card out of your camera and plug it into your computer. A folder with your pictures will appear on your computer. Copy them to a different folder on your computer, so you can take your sd card out and still have them on there.
If that doesn't work, plug the
cable in that came with your camera, and hopefully that will work.
I hope this helps. Please rate my solution.
