How to maintain dirt devil floor keeper vacuum

Hi, I really use the same vaccum and I'm very fussy! What I like to do is read pictures that came with it so you get familiar with it. There are only 4 or 5 parts that you need to take apart to keep it working like the day you bought it. They do unscrew, and you can see the build up every time you vaccum. Like I said I'm fussy, you can clean it, take it apart every 4th time you use it, but watch the build up, I get a lot from my large carpet. My hole house is carpeting, and dust is always on it, where it comes from, I don't know ! So try it out, and let me know how the pictures in the book help, its very simple, watch and see. By the way its a popular machine, I love mine, nice and light ! Good Day, Frank !

Dirt Devil upright has too much suction.

In a world where most people wish their cleaners had more suction, yours is a rare complaint indeed. Upright cleaners in particular are complaint-worthy as they soon tend to lose suction. It would be good to read more about the reason for your complaint? Ideally an upright will have enough suction to lift the carpet from the floor a few mm and trap it against the mouth of the brush housing so air can be drawn through the carpet helping to lift out dirt so the brush can work more efficiently. An upright that is working correctly is much harder to push along and as they age they tend to be easier to push as they lose efficiency. Most cleaners are fitted with at least one filter and they do rob them of suction. Some people remove the filters to improve the suction. Perhaps your cleaner has one or more filters missing.

Dirt Devil 086325 does not respond. Is the fuse or some such? Or just a bad cord.

I would go with the cord first. If it is defective it is usually at the plug for the wall as it gets the most stain.

I have a dirt devil

The sparks may be from the carbon brushes in the motor. Bagless vacuums do not filter dirt out as well as a bag does so dirt and grit gets sucked into the motor. Filters should be cleaned frequently and replaced at least once a year. If the filter gets clogged the motor can overheat. If you got two years out of a $39 vacuum you did well. Many people are lucky to get a year.

Why won't the brush on my Dirt Devil easy steamer turn

The belt may be stretched out or broken or the brush may be seized up. The belt should be replaced at least once per year on your model.

Just purchased dirt devil duo. After only using a few minutes it shuts down and you have to wait at least 30 minutes for it to start again. At this it will take me a week just to sweep my living room.

If you just bought it take it back to where you purchased it. It should be under warranty. You need your receipt as well.

My Dirt Devil en vision hose has good suction but zero suction at the bottom. Clean filter,no clogs.i know replacing the broken belt will make the brush turn. Will it enable suction also?

If you have fixed the suction at the bottom, a new tight belt is important when vacuuming carpeted floors. Belts lose elasticity from being stretched which is why they need replaced frequently.
