Troubleshooting in installing adobe reader.

LET ME GUESS? YOU'RE RUNNING VISTA? THIS SOUNDS LIKE ACTIVE X DOWNLOAD PROBLEM. DO YOU HAVE ACTIVE X ENABLED IN INTERNET OPTIONS. THE ONLY WAY I HAD ANY LUCK DOWNLOADING ADOBE READER WAS TO FIRST " SAVE " IT TO FILE AND THEN GO TO THE FILE AND INSTALL IT FROM THERE, IT SEEMED LIKE IT NEVER WOULD INSTALL IF I USED THE "RUN" COMMAND,. ALL IT WOULD DO WAS DOWNLOAD AND QUIT. IT NEVER CONTINUED TO THE RUN STAGE AND NEVER INSTALLED. THIS IS ALL WITH VISTA HOME PREM. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. WHY ARE YOU JUST DOWNLOADING VERSION 7.0? THE LATEST VERSION IS SOMETHING LIKE 9.2 OR MORE. I DON'T THINK 7.0 IS EVEN SUPPORTED ANYMORE. MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THIS OUT. WELL, TRY THE SAVE TO FILE FIRST AND IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217 AND I WILL TRY TO ASSIST YOU MORE.

I cannot open any programs

Uninstall Adobe reader and download it again from http://www.adobe.com/support/ if that is not where you got it the first time. Those icons and messages all indicate a virus or malware so go to Windows update and ensure that you have their free malware removal toll installed and do a full system virus scan. Steve

Unable to connect to internet on vista via wireless router

Welcome to FixYa! Vista is not access friendly but you will able to see your connection status by clicking on the network connection icon on the taskbar where you will see "Connected to: " and if you click on that a network map will appear. You will see a red "X" between your wireless access point icon and your Internet icon if the access status is "Local only". Clicking on the Internet icon will retry that connection. Make sure that your ip address is not 169.xxx.xx.x as that is Windows little way of saying it can't connect.
If you choose the Diagnose option it will do a release/renew operation automatically. With Vista you must "elevate" access by right clicking on the Command prompt executable and choose "Run as administator" if you wish to do that ipconfig manually.
Also when you are in the firewall configuration select the wireless connection>settings and make sure all of the permissions boxes are checked (ICMP, etc.)
With the adaptor advanced settings make sure your adaptor has the wireless mode (a, b, g, n) at the correct mode.
Have you tried logging on to the router via the Run bar? That is the most informative way to see your router config. Please repost if you need help with that. I also am a network professional certified since 1978 so I know that Vista defies using many tools we took for granted for so many years and often makes me feel frustrated. Maybe Windows 7 will be better as I only run Vista to help others like yourself, though at least you can understand what I am talking about:) Good luck, Steve Medley

Need serial number for acrobat 7

Welcome to FixYa! Your serial number is unique for your software. If you go to Adobe support and follow the registration instructions your computer will be scanned and the serial number detected. There is also a toll-free support number if you wish to obtain a serial number that way. Another serial number will not help you and is against anti-piracy laws to post here anyway. Here is where you will find help: http://www.adobe.com/support/ Steve Medley

Connecting to Router open diagnostic page and check your Wan connection.
If you do not find it use from same router the ping or trace command to check your Internet connection.
If you cannot get a result check Wan configuration: (PPOE/A Bridge etc) with your ISP (call or read user manual)
if your router is on net but you cannot browswe vrom vaio check if router access list is set: disable it or add your PC MAC address.

I have adobe 7.0 --can't download.Can't install update 9.0 Adobe

Sometimes whe you try too many times to install a program, it causes problems it may be fragments of the program that are still in the installer or issues with one or more of your virus, malware, trojen, type programs, that is why I suggested that you restart after removingthe program. Also the download may have a corrupted download, that's why I suggested removing it. You can try that by either uninstalling it from highlighting the program and seeing if there is an uninstal in the menu, or go to settings, control panel then add/remove programs, and deleting it. Once you finish then you may install the program. if you still cannot get that program out I will give you a site where there is a program called Unlocker. But let's try this first,
also did you try and remove it trough Safe mode, that may be the easiest way, just reboot and togle the f7f8 key untill it boots into safe mode and try to remove it from there using the same instructiones as I gave you above, thanks and good luck

Adobe Acrobat 7.1

Usually if this message appears that means you have a problem with the link from adobe to word, because the virtual printer installed by adobe has to work in order for you to save the documents you edit. Some of these messages don't have a real meaning and they are just a message bug, but if you can't save the documents you edit then you need to reinstall the adobe acrobat.
