1. Lift the handset or press the Handsfree button.
   
2. Press Store/memory.
   
3. Press the 0 - 9 buttons you want to use as the memory location.
   
4. Enter the phone number you want.
   
5. Press the Store/memory button to confirm. You hear a confirmation beep. The number is stored.
   

It is a British Telecom phone, so is unlikely to be fully compatible with Virgin phone service. The message is held with them, and just alerts to a message being there.

The Dick Smith F4536 is the Binatone SPEAKEASY 7. Unfortunately Binatone seem to be offline. I found that holding down the Mute button (when not on a call) switched to Tone (DTMF) dialing
