i got the program from i friend an they dont have a serial number what can i do to get that serial number

If you want to extract Audio files from your CD,. then you need a "Ripper" software to extract .dat files to audio formats like mp3, wav.....etc.....

Hey there! its an easy problem to fix. in your box along the tracks wallyou have gain input and output you need to change your output to your headset (it should be known and headphone or speaker audio). Dont forget to change it back to master when you export the files or save it off otherwise it wont have sound (made this mistake myself)I've included a photo showing you where its located.

You don't give enough details for your system. I guess that your soundcard in not properly selected at the Audition - Options - Device properties and device order. This can happen if your data rate is too high for your sound card and PC to keep up. (typical for old PC's / hardware)

Try recording at 44,100khz 16bit mono. That's all you should need for a microphone unless its a pro mic.

I assume that you know your way around adobe audition 1.5 because I'm currently using adobe audition 3 on windows 7. The menus are different, but I'm going to give a few points that might help.

Windows Sound/Volume:
Make sure that the sound card you are using is selected, specially if you are using an additional external USB sound card (which is much better). Disable other sound cards, if any.

Adobe Audition:
One of the pull down menus located on the upper part, it has an option that says "Device Properties" or anything like that. This is where you set the input signal will be coming from and likewise the output signal.

The input signal should be the input of the sound card you selected in windows. Same goes for the output signal.

On multi-track view, check the track to be recorded. Make sure that the input is from the input of the sound card and not from anything else. The button for the setting is somewhere near the Solo/Mute/Record buttons.

If this will be set correctly, you will be able to play the song on the 1st track and record ONLY your voice on the 2nd track.
