Canon usa dr-c130 - Page 39 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

First, I'm not a Canon Tech.
* Had same problem with my Canon MG3022
* These newer (+2010) printers have higher memory and more control programing built in. Some brands more than others.
* The printer monitoring is very strict and needs to be followed EXACTLY as stated by the monitoring program.
* Another issue is how slow these programs are as they will check everything to see if your following along. Times will depend on your WiFi speed, CPU speed, and if your running other programs in the background (which you are as your trying to print something from Word, Paint, Photoshop, etc.)
* skipping over any point of the ink exchange will lock up the system as it's looking for the old cartridge (which is bad) and trying to establish a new cartridge in it's place. If you don't wait for it to establish this base line then it may see the new cartridge as 'used' and reject it. Yeah I know, frustrating. It's designed to prevent someone from "re-filling" the old cartridge and re-inserting it as "New"
* I've found that if I shut down everything (computer and printer) and restarting the printer with old cartridge. Then as it powers up and goes into "no Ink" error. Replace the cartridge. Hopefully it will accept the newer cartridge. You must give it time to process through the change out procedure (up to 15 mins.) Wait for the ready light then turn the computer on.
* Still problems? Check warranty. Call or go online to Canon.com for support.

Hello, Heather -

Your toner and printing problems MAY be due to a dirty printer drum.

The instructions here may be helpful regarding cleaning the printer drum:
http://smallbusiness.chron.com/clean-canon-copier-drum-55783.html

I suggest first you read through the instructions completely so you will know what protection you will need to use and what supplies you will need. Toner can easily get all over everything on which you don't want toner. Note: I suggest you put on an old shirt or smock or apron so that any errant toner doesn't get on your clothing.

This is the link to the Service Manual for the Canon PC720, a PDF document (Adobe Acrobat Reader software needs to be installed on your computer - free) you can download and save to your computer for future reference:
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/457679/Canon-Pc720.html

Pages 144-145 (4-28 throug 4-29) of the manual contains some cautions regarding cleaning the drum.

Best wishes.

You replaced the "ink cartridges". It needs a "Maintenance cartridge". This is a separate cart, that holds waste ink.

Hello,

The 006 error mean the printer isn't in service mode. To enter in service mode check on youtube videos.
