Michael Smith... Hello,

Looks like we are in luck...

My FAV website form "MANUALS"...

Happens to have your SERVICE & REPAIR manual:
Maytag JDB4000AW Service Manual

The actual description on page 29 is not all that ILLUMINATING...
... and WORSE I WAS HOPING TO SEE A circuit DRAWING to confirm what I already knew..

"Com" takes the POWERED SIDE... (hot when running)
"NC" (normally closed) goes to the WATER VALVE.

During the sequence of washing...
the controller applies power to the "COM"...

when the FLOAT SWITCH... is NOT floating power
continues to be "ON" to the WATER-VALVE...

When the water get to the operational (float)
level the "NC" (normally closed).. OPENS and shuts
OFF the WATER VALVE.

I ONLY looked halfway through the "service" manual...
before I came to the conclusion there were NO SUCH
circuit or schematic drawings... (verified on 2nd pass).

Even after to careers in electronics... I hate working on
ELECTRIC stuff... My personal pleasure would be to invite you to look at the No Contact Volt Tests... (NCVT)
Amazon com no contact volt test

For between $10 & $20 you can be the proud owner of a
NCVT... Mine is a KLEIN... (long ago.. & far away).

Turns red & chirps... when it gets near power
(so I won't have to (turn RED or chirp)).

Still got it... Still love it...!!

Hope this helps...

and I am glad to hear it is a long story rather than a
tragic one...!!

Give your darling Pekingese message for me...

Your unit has a pan with a moisture sensor below the unit and will show LEAK DETECTED on the display if moisture is detected. Check underneath to see if there is any moisture on the pan.
If the dishwasher is also beeping, disconnect power to the dishwasher until the dishwasher can be repaired.
Since you said you moved into a brand new house, I would guess that the dishwasher is also brand new. In which case I recommend contacting GE for warranty work.

If there is no indication on the control panel, it is likely that quick wash is not offered.

That is calcium build up. It can be a reaction from the dishwashing detergent you are using, or your machine needs descaling. You can either use a product like CLR, a gallon of vinegar or a specially produced dishwasher descaler pod. Put your glasses and cutlery in with that clean. Change detergents if it comes back.

Your model number does not match anything listed. Brand name is most important. Your dishwasher should open the same way all the time. You can add items after starting the dishwasher if it’s BEFORE or shortly after the soap dispenser has opened.

press and hold the cancel button for about 5 seconds. This resets the electronics and gets it going again

Westinghouse SB907 had same problem, which I had thought might be the heating element. Fixed relay soldering on PCB where it was burnt/melted, now works! This probably applies to the Westinghouse SB925 also.

Check water inlet. Add water straight into the chamber manually 10 liters or as required, from the front . Close the door and run the machine. If air is trapped it will get cleared! however check free flow of water in the inlet rubber hose.Check the soleinoid valve water inlet for functioning. If the solenoid valve is not opening, then also this water flow problem into the machine will be.

There are two screws that hold the plate in. Because they are recessed, you may not think they are the right screws. Look at this video for a step by step.

To access the dishwasher filter, remove your lower dish rack to expose the bottom of your dishwasher. You can find the filter in a back corner of the tub bottom, or around the base of the bottom spray arm. Some dishwashers have a triple filter system with two parts: an upper filter assembly and a lower filter.
