Bose SoundDock® (Black) Docking Station for Apple iPod - Page 2 Questions & Answers
My bose dock has power but no sound
i spoke with bose tech support today because my docking system had no sound...everything else was fine, but no sound. they told me to take the battery pack off of the back, then reset my ipod by holding down the center button at the same time as the menu button for about 5 seconds (the apple icon will display), then reconnect the battery pack to the back of the dock and retry. it worked! good luck.
Stopped playing in the middle
did you see a power indicator after you plug in a pilot light? If no then that is a power supply issue.troubleshooting a power supply is not a DIY problem it requires a skilled personnel to do it but if you still want to DIY post back here i'll show you how or you can bring it to the bose service center near you.
Bose Sounddock failure
You probably have a broken docking connector or bad power supply. Contact
www.invebo.com to get a replacement board. It takes minutes to fit. They also sell the USB charge upgrade to enable you dock to charge the IPHONE on the Soundock original. Try the PSUif you can. The click is the PSU shorted that can be caused by a fault n the sound processor. Invebo will repair it for you too.
Bose sounddock got wet, now it plays but won't
Pleae do not use it further, since we fear that there is water trapped inside yo could have damged the device by powering as the water will create a short circuit with the allied circuits. If this is in the sensitive part section then you wont be lucky. so open up, use a good hair dryer to slowly warm for 5-10 minutes, repeat the same for some times, reassembly and test. hope this works out. helpful? Good day
My remote doesn't work. I put in a new battery;
Had the same problem. I resolved it by removing my iPod from the dock and unplugging the SoundDock. I waited a few seconds and plugged the SoundDock back in. I then placed my iPod back into the dock.
I played a song and tried to use the right/skip button to skip to the next song. At first it didn't work. Then, I held the right button down for a few seconds. After that, all buttons worked just fine.
I hope this works for you. In case it doesn't, here is what the user manual says:
• Remove your iPod from the dock, wait five seconds, then firmly reseat the iPod in the dock.
• Try the remote from a different location. If it works there, check for interference from bright room lights or sunlight. Wipe off the small lens on the front end of the remote with a clean, dry cloth.
• Make sure there is a clear pathway between the remote lens and your SoundDock system.
• Remove and reinsert the battery as shown on page 6.
• Replace the remote control battery as shown on page 6.
On hols left remote for sounddock at home need to use it
Hello,
you should be able to use the system without the remote control.
The iPod and SoundDock system can also be operated without the remote.
When an iPod is docked, all of its controls are accessible, with
one-button volume controls available on the SoundDock system's
enclosure.
Good luck.
I have a first gen.
Hi... Tery.....
Nice to see you.....
Since your mechanism has failed, therefore you must get it repaired from a service station....
I JUST BOUGHT A WALKMAN MP3 PLAYER.
hi there, I'm not sound expert, but if you want really good sound, look for something within the $200 - $500 range. And try to look for a trusted brand if you can. And if you would like even better sound, try tinkering with the sound settings in the control panel of your new player.
My dock is plugged into
The docking station could be okay. Try using the iPod through a headset, if get the same clicking sound, then there's a problem with the storage or program of the iPod. And to reprogram the iPod would resolve the problem. For this, I would suggest to contact the manufacturer.
Or, you may try putting a known working iPod into your dock to isolate the problem.
Have a great day!

I can´t hear any sound
With the Bose connected to a power source (such as the mains wall socket), and when you place the iPod on the unit, does the iPod detect the Bose? Is there any indication on the iPod that it is docked?
Also, if you replace the batteries in the remote, then play a song and increase the Bose's and the iPod's own volumes, does it play?
Ipod dock piece where ipod slides onto has been
Not likely unless your really good with soldering irons and superglue or it is COMPLETLY seperate (In other works the dock fully seperates from the speakers) then you might be able to order a new dock piece
