To change you password, launch your configuration screen (by typing in in the address bar of your Internet browser), Login using default username and password as above, and then click on "Run Wizard." You will have an option to Set your new password, Set your time zone, and to Set Internet connection. Follow the screen prompts, and restart your DLINK router/modem when done.

If you are having trouble resetting your password, double check your product documentation to find out how your product has been preconfigured prior to shipping. If you still cannot log in, double-check your password (if any), and make sure that your CAPSLOCK key is off. If all else fails, use that little "reset" button at the back of your D-Link router/modem and hold it down for 10 to 30 seconds (depends on your unit) to restore your networking hardware to factory default settings; and start over.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for choosing Fixya,

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

Ob these stuff there should be a reset button on the back, or the bottom. The type that you simply can't see, and to push it, you need a pen, pencil, whatever.
If you got the reset button, then it takes every preferences back to default. The default password on D-Link routers is "admin" (without ""s).
