Bushnell telescope 78-9669

You must first learn how to focus it in the day time. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser-- do NOT USE the 2x barlow if you have one. Practice focusing on a distant object. The red dot FINDERSCOPE must also firt be aligned with the main tube -- it is used to POINT the scope at an exact spot in the sky.

Objects in the night sky are tiny and the scope must be pointed directly at them to see anything. Locate a local Astronomy club and they will help you. Also read the manual completely.

I've completed the set-up, but the eyepiece still

What I believe you did was mount the scope UPSIDE DOWN. If it looks like the picture in your question the eyepiece and focuser end is pointed UP the mirror is on the bottom.

Turn it around and take the lens cap off.... this end is pointed toward the sky.

Veiwing is like looking at a do-nut? nothing in center

The focuser and eyepiece are POINTED UP toward the sky -- the mirror is at the bottom of the tube.

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser, and during the day time, practice focusing on a distant object.

The bottom end of telescope broken

Buy another telescope. If the mirror is broken, a new mirror will cost more than what you paid for the entire telescope.
