Just a guess here. Sounds like the battery might have been left uncharged for a while and could need to be replaced. Lead acid batteries need to be kept fully charged as much as possible to prevent them failing (the chemistry begins to change quite quickly and irreversibly if the voltage gets too low, and they will then not recharge).
Top-up charge every couple of months if not being used to prevent self discharge from causing this. Always recharge promptly after use.
If you have a voltmeter, check the battery voltage, should be above about 12.4 v to prevent deterioration. Voltage should only drop slightly when light is switched on if the battery is good. Charger might be self protecting if battery is faulty.
These batteries are reasonably priced and very common, be careful to connect the right way round if you are replacing or you can destroy the electronics!
You might be able to connect a new battery (observe polarity!) to test it works before you buy. Check that the batt voltage rises slightly when the charger is connected to make sure the problem is not caused by a charging fault.

the light is fractured to a certain extent that when freyed it will split apart but i am a 13yr old so i probably have virtually the same knowledge of this subject that you do.

How is a flashlight both luminous and nonluminous at the same time?
At first light it DOES sound a bit confusing.
First, the definition of the term 'NON-LUMINOUS'; 'Not capable of PRODUCING light but can be capable of REFLECTING light from another source'.
For instance, our MOON is NON-LUMINOUS as it REFLECTS light from the Sun. The SUN is LUMINOUS as it produces light that is REFLECTED off the surface of the moon. And so, LUMINOUS means capable of PRODUCING light.
Now closely examine your flashlight.
The BATTERIES produce electrical energy which is transferred to the BULB which emits light, thus LUMINOUS. The tiny little BULB emits quite a lot of light for its small size. However, the bulb is contained within a concave silvered cone which REFLECTS,(NON-LUMINOUS) gathers and channels the emitted light from the BULB (LUMINOUS) into a BEAM which ILLUMINATES whatever you are pointing the flashlight at.
Our cameras would be just paperweights if there were no NON-LUMINOUS surfaces for the light to REFLECT off of, back into the camera lens, onto the 'plate' thus etching the image. For example, take a photograph in the dark without the flash and what do you get. No LUMINOUS, no NON-LUMINOUS.
And so there we have LUMINOUS and NON-LUMINOUS, ILLUMINATING our lives. Enjoy! :)
Vec2705 polarization varification of recharge port
Hello, and yes I'm still in need of a solution. Lost the power cord, have replaced it w/universal, need to know spec on polarity. Is the positive contact the center post inside the recharge port or is it the surrounding contact of the same location? New universal has polarity switch, capible of both options.
Do NOT want to fry the unit.
Speaking of which mine appears different than the one you have pictured. Mine is YELLOW, very ylw,
w/black rubber bottom with the added feature of a 260psi air compressor on board. Unit also provides
a 12v power outlet(cigarret lighter varity) and one small LED light mounted forward, just above main spotlight. Dementions are 13.5L x 8.25H x 5W. Thanks for any help you may provide, and might I say just how impressed I am w/ your response time. Although at this time your premium service I must forego, I've bookmarked your site and "I shall return!"
